🪟🚪October is for opening (& closing)

On Saturday, October 24 at @ixora_cos, we’ll continue exploring the many ways we can experience opening and closing in our bodies and hearts.

Unfurl, curl, invite, withdraw, reveal, conceal. Play with the doors you swing open, the ones you keep slightly ajar, and those that stay locked under key.

Let’s let go, let in, and let imagination be our aperture. 📷

A 75-minute space for self-expression, introspection, and interaction, lightly guided by somatic prompts and supported by a curated, soul-stirring playlist.

✅ Appropriate for all experience levels.

✅ Adults and mature, mindful movers ages 12+ (accompanied by an adult) welcome.

An amazing performance weekend! 👻🦇🎃🪩🖤

It was a full weekend of the Mini Monster Mash, Haunted Disco, and Halloween Hafla. Plus, metal belly dance class of course.

I love dance. And performing. And the community. My body might be tired, but my heart is full ❤️‍🔥

Thanks to @ixora_cos @gentlefritz @usta.julie.shimmyrevolttroupe for hosting these events!

Don't want to learn the whole thing? No worries. Just come shake it.

It's spooky season at metal belly dance! 🎃

This month, we're going to learn an entire choreography. But there's no pressure. You can show up every Sunday and learn the whole thing or pop into any class to learn some combos and shake it.

There will be an opportunity to perform in the November hafla but no pressure!

I will be out of town October 18 for @telluridehorrorshow

🪟🚪October is for opening (& closing)

During October at @ixora_cos (Friday 10/2 and Saturday 10/24), we’ll explore the many ways we can experience opening and closing in our bodies and hearts.

Where are you clenching? Are your hips locked? Is it more vulnerable to dance with eyes open or closed? What’s the energy of the group when we dance shut off from one another as opposed to navigating the space with open minds and curiosity?

It’ll be a time to unwind into the unknown and fold back into familiarity, over and over again. 🔁

Come to one or both classes—they’ll be variations on the theme, with different experiences each evening.
