🤙🏾 Who Really Brought The Whistle To ΑΦΑ First?! 🧐

Bruhs, lock in. Neos, state your case. Prophytes, drop some history. 🎓👇🏾

Let’s settle a classic yard debate. We all know that distinct whistle that cuts through the noise at a party, step show, or probate.

It commands the room, sets the rhythm, and keeps the line perfectly locked in during a stroll.

The specific tradition of blowing a whistle to command a stroll line is heavily claimed by different chapters across the regions. Some say it traces its roots back to the birthplace at

Alpha Chapter (Cornell).

Others swear it was birthed in the south by powerhouse chapters like

Beta Nu (FAMU)—especially given their heavy influence on classic stroll culture like the “Alpha Walk”.

Meanwhile, a few prophytes will argue that the whistle is a newer-school addition that shouldn’t be overused on the yard.

Every single line thinks their chapter or their region does it best, but only one can claim the origin.

In 2025, @drclarksonloveshistory and the leadership of @wlapcs gave me the honor of serving as commencement speaker for their graduating class. The @universityofdc stage holds special meaning as it’s the same stage where I held my first District Conference as President and District Director of @mightymaac.

Life can be serendipitous. I’m eternally grateful for every opportunity I’ve been given, especially since this moment came in the midst of facing so much doubt.

We often forget what we prayed for because we’re too busy facing what we didn’t prepare for. But staying strong and consistent through the uncertainty is what carries you to the moments you asked for.

@drclarksonloveshistory, thank you for advocating for me. Brothers of the @mightymaac, I appreciate you putting your faith in me. We will continue to lift as we climb.
