12/13/25 Elkhorn Recap I am incredibly proud of this team’s performance. From first-time competitors to seasoned veterans, the hard work put in during the off-season was on full display. Alphabetical order based on last name: @israelbenitezpl | 790lb Total (115lb PR) NATIONAL QUALIFIER I am proud of how seriously Israel has taken training. Based on his potential, I expect his totals to jump significantly by February. @mikklo58 | 805lb Total (110lb PR) NATIONAL & STATE QUALIFIER Dom has evolved from a "just for fun" lifter into a serious contender for the top spots at State this year. @matttouww | 800lb Total (First Comp) NATIONAL QUALIFIER Matthew is a Sussex Hamilton student lifting with our team. He moved weight great for his first meet; expect big improvements next time. @alenz.07pl | 1555lb Total NATIONAL & STATE QUALIFIER + LIFTER OF THE MEET Ayden competed just to secure his State spot under new rules. Hitting near-PRs with only 2 attempts on squat and bench is amazing. @iainmayer.pl | 945lb Total (124lb PR) NATIONAL QUALIFIER Iain worked insanely hard this offseason and his work paid off. Also, I am ever grateful that he brought so many new members to the team. @edisonleonmesserschmidt | 935lb Total (First Comp) NATIONAL QUALIFIER I told Eddie in middle school he should compete; as a freshman, he proved me right. He crushed it and has much more in the tank. @jerry_in_motion | 1110lb Total (First Comp) NATIONAL QUALIFIER Jeremiah was a phenomenal addition. He was one "hitch" away from State, so he is back on the platform this weekend to secure it. @liamnimkie | 680lb Total (First Comp) Liam took a smart, conservative approach to establish a baseline. He found his footing and big jumps are coming next meet. @chuck_charlos1012 | 1045lb Total (9lb PR) NATIONAL QUALIFIER Charlie hit great PRs on squat and bench while playing it safe on deadlift. Now that the rust is off, I am excited to see him grow. @qkevinwang | 920lb Total (144lb PR) NATIONAL QUALIFIER Kevin’s work ethic is paying off. Even with a 144lb PR, we have only scratched the surface. He is going to make a serious dent in the scene.

This weekend, four Team Aspire athletes competed at the WHSPA Elkhorn Regional! This was a great meet, as every single athlete left the meet PRing their total with a minimum of 45lbs! Meet Highlights: Kevin Wang hitting an impressive 385lbs deadlift (shown) placing 4th in the 75kg weight class after a close head to head, while being the lightest lifter in that weight class! Also PR’d his total by 144.5lbs since his last meet! Iain Mayer PRing his total by 124lbs since his last meet and hitting an impressive 385lbs deadlift PR (shown)! Matthew Davila competing in his first meet ever, PRing his total by 45lbs since his last “mock meet” he did only 6 weeks ago! EDIT: Israel Benitez actually PR’d his total by 115lbs from his last meet, not 75lbs…. hitting a 265lbs squat PR (shown) and almost locking out a 405lbs deadlift! Huge thank you for Coach Salb @coach_salb from @blackshirtpowerlifting at Waukesha South High School for giving me the opportunity to work with some of these young men the last couple weeks. As the season just started, this is only the beginning for these guys. There will be many more PRs coming soon! Also shoutout to @hayley.kgs @h.paulson17 and @nik.desouza38 for helping our team run things in the warm up room! In four weeks, we’ll be sending another team to the WHSPA Waterford Regional in hopes of getting some more state qualifiers as well! 🟪 Interested in joining Aspire? DM for coaching inquiries to hit some PRs for your next meet!
