Have you ever trained perfectly and still had a race fall apart on you?

Because I did. And it cuts deep.

I can hide behind the medal, the World Major, the journey and honestly, all of that is real and I mean it. This training block made me a stronger person, inside and out.

But let’s be honest. When you give everything- the diet, the sessions, the recovery, the early mornings, the hard days and the clock still reads something so far from what you know you’re capable of, it stings in a way that’s hard to explain to anyone who hasn’t been there.

And yet.

A finish time tells you how fast you ran. It says nothing about who you are.

I am not 3:46. I am everything it took to get to that start line. 💛

Exploring Durban does not have to cost you a cent- just a little sleep and the energy to get up for an early-morning run along our beautiful coastline.😉
