🎻 We were excited to host our All-State Orchestra Intensive at Frost Preparatory School!

We were thrilled to welcome talented young musicians from schools across Florida to the University of Miami for an afternoon of music-making and All-State preparation.

Students worked on sight-reading, scales, and excerpts, practiced through mock auditions, and received valuable feedback from our outstanding UM faculty and Prep coaches.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, and good luck with your All-State auditions! 🎶 We hope to see you again next year!

This year’s music production camp invited students from across the country for our largest summer yet. With two weeks of programming and a new electronic music ensemble, our music production camp brought a lot of musical opportunities to our students to explore beat making, recording, mixing, and electronic instruments.

A highlight of the FSE Jazz Instrumental Intensive is daily big band rehearsal! 🎷Students were immersed in big band repertoire through daily rehearsals, deep listening, and sectionals. Along with 4 small combos, the big band performed a dynamic set of old and new big band repertoire at the end of the week.

Through the Fulbright Program, three members of the #FrostBuilt community are using music as a bridge across cultures. Studio Music and Jazz percussionist Sebastian Kuchczyński is advancing his doctoral studies while contributing to the international jazz scene, meanwhile Kateryna Alymova is gaining hands-on experience in the @ummusicindustry program and expanding her perspective as a leader.

At the same time, @frost_msj lecturer David Anderson brought gospel music to Iceland, leading students and members in a cultural exchange that highlighted themes of history and community through song. Together, their experiences are highlighted in our #FrostNews to reflect how music can foster connection and create impact.
