First project in college done! I had to do a stippling project. This took so long and I underestimated how long it would take 😵‍💫

I am absolutely proud of this piece. After a LONG semester in color theory I’m so happy going out of that class having learned what I did. Definitely a difficult class too. All of the paint on this canvas is hand mixed from golden acrylic paints- titanium white, primary magenta, primary yellow, primary cyan, ultramarine blue, and bone black!

Process:
1. Handmade tartan stripe on photoshop
2. Screenshot crop made of the tartan stripe
3. Printed the screenshot image of the tartan
4. Measured accordingly on a canvas
5. Taped each section and used mod podge to make tape stick
6. Hand mixed every color to match the printed image of my tartan stripe I made on adobe photoshop

In full this took me approximately 2 weeks to work on with one of my final finishing sessions being 12 straight hours long without break (I needed to meet the deadline guys 😭)

Crazy that I’m posting this just now. I feel like this is my strongest piece in my portfolio. I had some help building the coffin and shelves but everything is handmade. I made each of the stuffed animals too! This piece is 3 ft. x 6 ft.

ETRNA. by Iamê Ribeiro explores the legacy of Brazil’s military dictatorship through the lens of fashion, drawing inspiration from the Tropicalista movement and the enduring influence of Rita Lee. Using transparent lambskin, bleached denim, and experimental construction techniques, the collection examines resistance, identity, and the relationship between the body and societal confrontation. Tattooed leather becomes a second skin, while metal-stapled seams introduce a sense of tension and resilience, balancing vulnerability with protection. Through contemporary fashion design, ETRNA. asks how individuality and self-expression can serve as acts of rebellion in today’s political and cultural landscape.
