With recruitment starting next week, here is a letter to PC ‘26 from your future new member director 💌:

“Dear PC ‘26,

I can’t wait to get to know you all and be your new member mom!! I’ve been eagerly awaiting your arrival I can’t believe how close we are to recruitment and bid day (I might just burst with excitement).

I entered the chapter during my first year in 2024 and it has without a doubt permanently changed my life for the better. The women in this chapter have helped me in countless ways. From the simple daily stresses my roommates help me work through to the big life changes and homesickness in first year the unconditional love I have felt is a once in a lifetime find.

My big kaila was new member mom last year and she has been such an inspiration and consistent light in my life; it’s truly unreal to think I’ll be following in her footsteps this year. She was one of the first people I ever spoke to during recruitment and I still remember how instant and genuine our connection was. From there the number and depth of my friendships with everyone in Kappa has multiplied exponentially to make me feel more confident and comfortable at UBC than I ever could’ve imagined possible.

I’ve got big shoes to fill, but I have big plans for us and I’m so honoured to be the person that gets to help introduce you to the chapter that has truly become my home away from home 🤍🤍However, before I get to do that you guys have the most incredible journey ahead of you, actually going through recruitment! I hope you all find a place that makes you feel excited about your future at UBC, empowered to branch out, and ultimately like you belong.

“UBC is a massive school, and it feels even bigger when you don’t yet have your people. I felt completely lost before going through Formal Recruitment. I remember sitting in the chapter room talking to the girl who would one day become my Big and feeling a connection that came so easy.

The gratitude I feel for UBC Sororities is truly indescribable and it has given me friends and memories I’ll cherish for life.”
