Every skill has a setup.⁣
⁣
A standing tuck is no different.⁣
⁣
One of the biggest mistakes athletes make is trying to rotate before they’ve finished preparing for the rotation. The set isn’t just a lift of the arms. It’s how you set the entire skill up for success.⁣
⁣
That’s why I teach 𝐒.𝐄.𝐓.⁣
⁣
𝐒 = 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝⁣
Stand tall. Finish the jump. Don’t collapse.⁣
⁣
𝐄 = 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝⁣
Reach through your hips, shoulders, and toes. Create the length your body needs before it shortens into the tuck.⁣
⁣
𝐓 = 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭⁣
Trust the angle. Trust the technique. Trust the discomfort. Rotation isn’t something you force. It’s something you earn by completing the set.⁣
⁣
𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝. 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝. 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭.⁣
⁣
The better the setup, the less you have to fight the skill. The tuck doesn’t create the flip. The set creates the flip. The tuck simply finishes it.⁣
