🎭 Wishing much success tonight at the awards ceremony to all the S/ashers who made it to the finals at @briskfestival . You all were amazing last night!

Your stories, your performance, your production, direction and passion surely was transmitted to the audience.

It was an honor to be invited as a judge and to witness so much powerful vibe at the Morgan-Wixon theatre.

Looking forward to learn about who the winners are and to see what new stories you will be bringing next year...in a brisk.

Congratulations Christian! Great season 2026!

It Hunts (2026) tells the story of an aimless nightcrawler racing to unravel the mystery of the supernatural entity hunting him.

For those wondering what this film is, it’s a new microbudget horror done under an indie company titled @rainoffireproductions. I hadn’t heard of this film until I was recently recommended to check it out by its creators!

Considering its tiny budget, I think the cinematography is excellent. It’s visually very appealing with its bright neon lights, and it’s very fast-paced with its sharp editing and camera movements. The story is also excellent! It mixes a supernatural entity into a bleak and isolated city world, while using these clever lighting tricks to make our characters feel trapped and as if they’re slowly losing their sanity. I think making it character-driven was a smart route to follow. It means you spend less time on big-budget visuals and instead focus entirely on how a character is under a supernatural threat, but using their creative abilities to imply rather than show.

There were many dream-like sequences throughout the story and the sudden shift to what looked to be a reality and then suddenly, those eerie and, at times, pretty horrifying hallucination scenes, felt very realistic. This is all carried strongly by our lead character Casey, played wonderfully by Izzy Martinez. Seeing him feel consumed by all this paranoia and fear had me genuinely feeling frightened for him.

Overall, It Hunts is a very gripping story that cleverly relies on a character-driven narrative to show an eerie descent into madness. Given its smaller budget, it is crafted in a very intriguing way and still carries a freaky tone through excellent performances and haunting visuals. It is currently accessible on Amazon Prime and I definitely recommend it for those who enjoy slow-burn horrors.

Hey, guys, Jackmeats Flix reviewed It Hunts. The review was really great! He's a tough reviewer but fair in the sense that he's tough on everyone. It Hunts is a cerebral mystery thriller with horror elements. Be aware, the second half of the review contains minor spoilers. If you like movies like The Empty Man, The Night House, and It Follows this might just be for you! 🤗
