With the start of summer we wanted to highlight the volunteers who make up our Roanoke Hokie Alumni Board, this way you can connect with us easier if you’re at an event! Stepping into the Chapter President role this year we have Amanda Hurst, a 2002 Electrical Engineering graduate, Amanda is no stranger to Hokie Alumni Leadership. She has served as a board member of the Denver Hokies since 2018. She has been to over 850 concerts to date and 143 of those are Dave Matthews concerts! Our outgoing President, Matt Cook, is the face many of you may recognize from our events. A 2012 Biology graduate, Matt received wedding advice from Coach Beamer at his wedding rehearsal courtesy of his wife and a groomsman! Matt is still going to be an active volunteer, so don’t worry! Our chapter Treasurer is Whitney Eversole, a 2009 graduate in Fashion Merchandising. Her freshman year roommate became her best friend, and they lived together all 4 years of college! Izzy and Clark Ruhland are Multimedia Journalism and Communications graduates respectively, that serve as the Scholarship and Graphic Design side of our chapter. They have a true Hokie Love story of meeting at a 2021 Football Tailgate. Izzy also never got ticketed by parking services, and Clark designed the 2016 VT Nascar. Our Young Alumni representative, Chris Schumacker, a 2014 grad, recently welcomed home a newborn! Courtney Pierce is our leader on Communication and Outreach. A 2015 B.S. in Accounting and 2016 M.S. in Accounting graduate, Courtney made it through 5 years of school with her original Hokie P. William Booth manages our Social Media accounts, helps with Young Alumni and Happy Hours. A 2021 Finance graduate, William was a member of the VT Fly Fishing Club. There are various other community members that serve behind the scenes that deserve recognition here as well! If you are interested in volunteering with us please reach out! #VTAlumni #RoanokeHokies

My first experience with @rundisney was… Incredible! Never thought I’d do a 10k run, but 10 miles? @izzypost and I crushed it. These events are so much fun. The themes are amazing, the runners are in great spirits and the costumes are just awesome. From the Guardians of the Galaxy, to Hercules, to The Incredibles. What a blast! #rundisney #guardiansofthegalaxy #peterquill #hercules #pegasus #incredibles #mrincredible

Fair warning: if you are my friend, I may paint your photos! My plan was to keep this super simple and possibly faceless, which I kind wish I had done as I don’t love the faces. But I learned how to paint bushes and enjoyed figuring out how to make her veil appear transparent!
