🌲Full house at practice tonight! 🙌

For the first time, we maxed out with 20 participants—21 if you count the extra RO! Everyone was motivated, having fun, and getting good reps in. People even asked to stay longer. That’s a pretty good sign we have something good going.

Special thanks to @gabenorth for running the program, and to all the volunteers like @jo.yeu @kevin_lamar_007 @j.a.mccullers @hardstuckcclass , and the shooters who make these sessions possible. This community keeps showing up, and it’s awesome to see.

Let’s keep it going when the sun goes down. ESC After Dark is coming! 🌙

Are you planning to shoot with white light or NVGs and IR lasers?

🌲Volunteer Range Officers Needed🌲

EPS is looking for volunteer Range Officers to help support our upcoming practical shooting practice sessions at @shootevergreen .

The goal is simple: give local shooters a safe, structured place to practice practical shooting skills where they’ll actually compete.

Our current plan is to utilize two bays:
• One bay set up as a practical shooting stage
• One bay configured as a flat range with multiple targets

Shooters will be able to work on movement, transitions, stage planning, target transitions, and marksmanship without having to drive out to Capitol Forest to find a place to train.

Planned Schedule
• Monday evenings, 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
• Saturday evenings, 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Volunteer RO Requirements
• Current Evergreen Sportsmen’s Club member ($75 annual membership)
• Practical shooting experience (USPSA, ASI, PCSL, or similar)
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and positive training environment

Volunteer ROs will help supervise shooters, enforce safety standards, and support the growth of practical shooting at Evergreen. They’ll also get opportunities for free volunteer only training and practice sessions.

If you’re interested in helping launch this program, comment below, send us a message, or email info@evergreenpracticalshooting.com.

We’re building this for the local practical shooting community, and we’d love your help making it happen.

🌲EPS Practice Session Updates🌲

Short answer — EPS practice sessions are in the works.

We presented our EPS practice SOP to the board this past Wednesday. Pending approval, we’re aiming to launch our first practice sessions in late May or early June.

Longtime Evergreen public range RO, @j.a.mccullers, is the program lead.

Current plan:
• Two practice days
• One bay with a stage
• One bay set up as a flat range (6–10 static targets)
• 1 volunteer RO per bay
• All ROs must pass EPS shoot, written, and RO evaluation (ROs shoot free)
• Up to 20 shooters total
• $20 per shooter

Scheduling (proposed):
• Monday evenings
• Saturday evenings
• ~4/5 PM – 8 PM

One open question we’re working through:

Should this be limited to Evergreen members only, or open to members + guests (or broader)?

We’d like to hear what the community thinks—drop your input below.

This was a little too long for a comment reply to @projectile.enthusiast , so posting it here.
