ASF 2023 Pro-Am Bench recap: I got second and just missed getting my pro card. That’s okay because I gave this prep and this day my very best effort. @sam.s.calhoun dialed up a perfect peak and taper. We’ll have to do that again; I cut 15lbs and felt the strongest I’ve ever felt! 🤯 We needed 112.5kg/248lbs to win and just missed. I’m excited to go after it when I only have to weigh 75kg at bench nationals in August.

The weekend was a blast as always! I cherish these opportunities to see far away friends and make new ones! Thank you everyone that helped me get there and that made the weekend so special!

@j.anders87 and @mightymousekait_17 thank you for recording and supporting!
@odotburke I’m already excited to go to Phoenix with you!

"The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members." -Corretta King

The words "thank you" never seem like quite enough to express how grateful we are after each meet for the number of people who step up to volunteer to make meets so successful. The State Championship was the largest meet SC has held on its own, boasting over 300 spectators and 120 lifters, and would have been impossible without the 9 referees and 26 spotters/loaders/staff that showed up to help. Special shout out to @lizacteach for being an incredible Technical Secretary, and @genebuckingham
And @matt_landreth9, who helped with set up and break down.

Thank you to the coaches and athletes who accepted other athletes into your pack and helped them in the warmup room and with advice off the platform. Thank you to the spectators for the incredible vibe you created in rooting for every athlete.

Thank you to all the vendors who supported the community with your services and products.

BJ and I were absolutely honored to watch so many athletes crush their goals this weekend and it has been incredible to listen to so many stories about how powerful this community has been in positively impacting the lives of not only athletes but families.

Greer High School has already committed to having us back for the 2023 State Championship and SE Open, so we are already looking forward to and planning for an even bigger and better event next year!!
