Last weekend I was spoiled by some of my closest friends for my 40th birthday. Friday night kicked off at Bar Brico, Saturday morning started with a beautiful brunch, Saturday night was the big one — a ’90s hip-hop video dance party at @OTTO_yeg — and Sunday wrapped with a family feast and a spectacular cake.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate, to those who helped organize and took such great care of me, and to the amazing team at OTTO for making it the perfect night.

I’ve entered my 40s feeling like a very lucky boy loved by many.

THANK YOU to everyone who was able to make it to Arts Expo 2025, which happened today in the Telus Centre!💚💛

It was great to chat with everyone and connect you all with our academic and student service resources, and seeing many of you leave with a ton of Arts swag and pamphlets filled our hearts with joy.

We hope you left with a better idea of which directions you want to take your studies, and that you’re one step closer to your Home in Arts!

With UPOC’s inaugural Year in Pictures, we are celebrating the incredible talent of Canadian freelance photojournalists. This year, you travelled near and far from home to cover fire, civil unrest, the natural world, Olympics, Swifties, the toxic drug supply crisis and so much more. You visited people in every walk and stage of life to document the world around you.

It is amazing to see you, our resilient community, able to see so singularly from coast to coast. Because of you, reporting is richer, representation is better, and so many moments—tender, critical, heartbreaking, joyful, historic—have been added to our collective memory. Thank you.We see you. Keep going. We are so much stronger together

We are so proud of our Outback squad competing at the IFAF U20 World Championships in Edmonton, Canada.

Following their tough round 1 game against Japan, the team worked hard and made some great adjustments coming into game two against Panama.

Their dedication, team work and that undeniable Aussie spirit saw them claim a 21-0 win. Such an amazing result for the players and staff.

The team play their final match up against Canada 2 on Monday 8am AEST.

Canadian tech leaders are pushing back against the "apocalyptic warnings" surrounding artificial intelligence, recognizing that the fear-based language could impede the necessary progress needed to effectively govern the advancing technology. At AltaML, we prioritize responsible AI, as it's an integral part of our operations.
