Cinema Viewing Experience
• Snacks: I can't be certain but the (gentle)man who was chewing gum like a horse / sucking on a limitless supply of boiled sweets for the duration should be banned for life. People who clap when a plane lands - not cool. People clapping at the end of the film? Even less cool. The two guys who left the screen in front of me reeking of weed - what are you doing, if in fact the source of the offending smell? Animals.

Cinema Thoughts
• Poignant: coming to terms with and accepting your mortality, the night and day difference in the acceptance of worlds towards gay men of the 20th and 21st centuries, the lost hopes and promise of those earlier generations that didn't benefit from a more enlightened society, the persistence of trauma from a lost love, the beauty that remains in the small things in life and forgiveness and peace that can be achieved are all deftly demonstrated here.
• Performance: incredible that Kier can embody a character so sassy, charismatic and flamboyant when I last saw him as a terrifying monster reflecting the worst of humanity in "The Painted Bird". His defiance at growing old gracefully, as popular as ever with new encounters and old friends and his love for humanity is balanced with deep unresolved grief and pain that rears its head when he has a second in which he isn't peacocking. Pat and Eunice and the ending wouldn't cut so deep without Kier's dazzling depth.
• Comedy: so many gems in the script.

Personal Thoughts
• It's too easy to take for granted how the world has (in some ways) improved.

Back in 2008 when I moved to NYC I had no idea what she had in store for me.

Today as I look back I’m so moved by all the incredible people and opportunities I’ve had the joy of experiencing. Countless good times, lasting friendships, challenges and more. This city showed me what I value most and why prioritizing loved ones and family are more important than anything else. She gave me an unexpected yet fruitful career path which has opened so many doors for me. She connected me with the love of my life and our two perfect ‘children’.

I can’t wait to see what Massachusetts has in store for us as we close this chapter of our story. I will miss NYC immensely especially the friends I’m moving away from. I love you all so much and look forward to visiting often.
With than in mind, this is truly more of a take care and see you soon, than an actual farewell!

Thank you NYC, for helping to build the foundations of this beautiful life. I will be eternally grateful.
