📸: my third and final maternity leave*

You would think both my baby and I fighting for our lives would make this the hardest maternity leave of all three…the exact opposite is true.

My first? Whewww. I nose-dived into postpartum anxiety and depression. First baby after a miscarriage + a newborn during a pandemic = my nerves on 1000%... and eeeyuckkkk. 😅

My second taught me grace. To release myself from performing to be the “perfect mom”.

My third taught me that healing is holy work.

I started with my therapist right away and I’m finally embracing that healing isn’t linear…It’s squiggly lines because Jesus doesn’t just heal the wound everyone can see. He lovingly invites us to let Him reach beneath it….to the scar tissue. The places I learned to survive instead of trust. The wounds I thought time had healed. The lies I didn’t even know I still believed. The areas I learned to be strong instead of surrender 🥲

I’m proud of the way Ive showed up. Not because this maternity leave was easier…it absolutely wasn’t.

BUT this time, I wasn’t just trying to recover. I’ve been willing to heal ❤️One surrendered day at a time.

*third and final pending Jordan’s vasectomy. 🗣️ Pray. For. Us. IYKYK 😩
