My top 10 mantras I’m bringing into the New Year

✨Surround yourself with those who lift you up

✨You attract into your life what you put attention on (choose your thoughts wisely)

✨I am exactly where I’m supposed to be

✨No one’s bad vibes are invisible

✨Choose to do what you love and do what you don’t love - with love

✨Stillness helps move mountains

✨Clinging to how you think things should be keeps you from seeing things the way they are

✨No one breaks our heart they break our expectation

✨It takes less energy to walk around a snake then to try to remove it from your path

✨Try the no complaining rule and not only will you be happier, but so will everyone around you. If you must complain, write it down once a day...and accept what you can and can not change.

Which ones resonate with you?

Today I celebrate my mom Bonnie who died 19 years ago from a brain tumor. She was my biggest cheerleader and always said, "one day when you’re a mother you’ll understand." I always rolled my eyes…until I became a mother. There are countless lessons she taught me during our precious time together including the importance of family, to be my genuine self, to trust, to believe in myself, the importance of tradition and of course, how to shop like a pro!

As a mom and daughter, this poem deeply touches me:

It started out so innocently
as a baby and you were always there for me

I was young and didn't understand
All that it meant to give of one's self completely

You gave your time, love and being
Without asking anything in return

So many fun and pure days
We look back now in a haze

the countless times I said I can't
You were there to make sure I could and did

The support was unwavering
It made me feel I could do anything - and did

Now that I'm a mom It's clear to me All the things you've done
The sleepless nights - me calling for you
And you would run

I've learned so much about love,
life and the things that matter most

I will always cherish and love you
and promise to appreciate each day
Thank you mom for being you
and loving me today
