We are spoiled in Taos with the coolest community!!! Love getting to hang with these fish/nature/art-loving ladies. Think there may be more art nights in our future 💘

We returned the rental van back to Bend and ourselves back to the trail. Town days are great but the itch to finish the hike must be scratched.

We met our girl, Jules, when she scooped us up in the roundabout right outside of Bend (maybe the strangest location for us to try to get a hitch 😂) and then the sweetest lady took us the rest of the way to the trailhead (we were her first hitchhikers!) it was always so interesting to see who would stop for us and what their reasoning was.

It felt like a sweet return getting back on trail & we were greeted by a big, juicy moon 🌙

(Bonus story: we packed out hoagies & chips for dinner, but didn’t get to camp until after dark and there were already a few tents set up with hikers fast asleep, so we tried to set up quickly and eat quietly. I disassociated at some point during dinner and was eating one crunchy chip at a time for what must’ve felt like hours to Bryan 😂 he had to snap me out of my chip trance and make me go to sleep. I got lost in the salt🧂 .)

As I see everyone posting their 2024 recaps. Which is soooo cool to see everyone getting creative. Big ups to social media for that!
I’m reminiscing on winter last year, specifically snowboarding. I moved from South Louisiana to the mountains and last winter I learned how to snowboard. This exact week last year I was taking lessons at Mount Bachelor. I immediately knew I would be hooked. Spending countless days up at the mountain learning, falling, and creating memories with friends.
I was even lucky enough to have some buddies @cambatesss @cornice_daily bring me along for backcountry touring. Big ups to those guys too!
Long story longer, this sport has brought me so much joy and pushed me. I feel it has brought me closer to friends and closer to the mountains.
Another cool note, I have soooo much more to learn and a lot more skills to gain. It’s only the beginning.

Oh, also! I finally brought my camera to the mountain at the end of last season.
I’m back in Bend from being home for the holidays. I’m ready to go play in the snow and capture the moments!
