When I became a Dad in 04 all I wanted was an athletic little boy. So I got an athletic little girl. She changed my life. She gave me a purpose. She was all I ever wanted. 07 comes around and I have another kid on the way. I was beyond scared. I wanted another athletic little girl… nope. It’s an athletic little boy. I had no clue how I was going to love this little boy like I love this little girl. It took me a month or so after he was born but I made the adjustment. Jadyn had my heart but now I have a man to raise. I need to be the father I wish I had growing up. That dad that plays catch. That dad that never misses. That dad that has to get covered in makeup and facials. That dad that’s involved with school functions and on top of grades. More importantly I needed these two to love each other unconditionally and understand at end of the day you have each other. They say “I love you” at the end of phone calls or when they are leaving. It’s the little things. Now they are hanging out at Jadyn’s school and adulting… kinda. It makes me feel old but I know I raised 2 of the best humans on this earth. I can’t even tell you the compliments I get on them. It validates their raising. It took a village though. I didn’t do it alone. I love you kids. Thank you for being great. Your future is bright.
