Aesthetics isn’t just about your face—it’s about how you look, move and feel as you age.

Healthy aging includes maintaining good posture, strong bones, muscle strength, balance and proper body alignment. An upright, strong posture doesn’t just help us look more youthful—it supports mobility, confidence and independence.

Both of my parents developed kyphosis, so protecting my own spine and bone health has become increasingly important to me.

Although not every case can be prevented, we can reduce our risk by strengthening the back and core, choosing weight-bearing exercise, practicing good posture and thoracic mobility, maintaining balance, and getting adequate protein, calcium and vitamin D.

If you’re postmenopausal and have additional risk factors, ask your healthcare provider whether you need bone-density screening before age 65.

New back pain, loss of height or an increasing upper-back curve should never be dismissed as “just aging.”

True aesthetics is about aging beautifully—and staying strong, aligned and healthy from the inside out.

Save this post and share it with someone committed to healthy aging.

Aesthetic medicine is still medicine. 💉

Injectables may be elective, but the decision to treat should never be casual.

Before prescribing or performing an aesthetic treatment, we should be doing what we were trained to do as medical providers: taking a thorough history, reviewing medications, assessing medical conditions and disease activity, examining the patient, evaluating risks versus benefits, and determining whether the treatment and product are appropriate for that individual.

Autoimmune disease is a perfect example. A diagnosis alone does not automatically mean “no filler.” But it also shouldn’t be dismissed with a simple “you’re cleared.” Different injectables have different manufacturer labeling, precautions, and available safety data.

We need to ask:
• Is the disease stable or actively flaring?
• Is the patient immunosuppressed?
• What medications are they taking?
• Is there a history of inflammatory or delayed reactions?
• What does the specific product IFU say?
• Does the benefit justify the potential risk for this patient?

Sometimes the appropriate prescription is to treat. Sometimes it’s to modify the treatment plan. And sometimes the safest decision is not to treat at all.

Beautiful results matter—but patient selection, clinical judgment, and safety come first.

Aesthetics isn’t simply performing a procedure. It’s practicing medicine.

Want younger-looking arms as you age? Start now! 💪✨

We often focus on our face and neck—but our arms can be one of the first places to show aging. The good news? There are simple ways to keep them looking smoother, stronger, and healthier.

⭐ My top tips:

💪 1. Build muscle.
Simple arm circles and resistance exercises help maintain muscle mass and improve tone.

✨ 2. Tighten the skin.
Sofwave® stimulates collagen to improve skin laxity and firmness.

💉 3. Restore collagen.
Hyperdilute Radiesse® or Sculptra® can help improve crepiness, skin quality, and thickness by stimulating your body’s own collagen.

☀️ 4. Never skip SPF.
UV damage accelerates collagen loss and skin aging—even on your arms.

👕 5. Cover up when possible.
Lightweight UPF clothing provides extra protection during prolonged sun exposure.

💧 6. Stay hydrated.
Healthy skin starts from within. Hydration supports skin function and helps maintain a healthier appearance.

Remember… aging is inevitable, but how we age is something we can influence. Small, consistent habits—and the right treatments—can make a big difference.

What does it really mean to “act your age?” 🤔

I don’t think it means slowing down or letting a number define you. I believe it means acting how you feel—with energy, purpose, curiosity, and gratitude.

Choose positivity. Stay kind. Stay humble. Keep moving your body, challenging your mind, and surrounding yourself with people who lift you up. Youth isn’t just about age—it’s a mindset fueled by vitality and joy.

Here’s to living fully at every stage of life. ✨

Do you believe in acting your age, or acting how you feel? Tell me in the comments! ⬇️

☀️ The easiest anti-aging habit? Reapplying your SPF.

I’m a huge fan of portable mineral SPF powder with zinc oxide because it makes sun protection effortless.

Why I love it:
✨ Reapplies beautifully over makeup
✨ Won’t leave your skin feeling greasy
✨ Helps control shine throughout the day
✨ Broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection with zinc oxide
✨ Perfect for your purse, beach bag, golf bag, or travel

Remember: Your morning sunscreen isn’t enough. Reapply every 2 hours when outdoors to help protect against sun damage, pigmentation, and premature aging.

💗 We carry our favorite Skin Esteem Mineral Zinc Oxide SPF Powder at Skin Esteem Aesthetics & Wellness Center. Stop by the clinic to pick one up—your future skin will thank you!

🇭🇷 Day 2 in Croatia was nothing short of magical!

We spent the day exploring the breathtaking beauty of Plitvice Lakes National Park, where crystal-clear turquoise waters and cascading waterfalls looked like something out of a dream. Next, we visited the charming village of Rastoke, a hidden gem where rivers, waterfalls, and historic watermills create a storybook setting.

The day ended with a wonderful welcome dinner, filled with laughter, meaningful conversations, and the excitement of making new friends from around the world. These experiences remind me that travel is about so much more than the places we see—it’s about the people we meet and the memories we create together.

✨ Have you ever visited Croatia or have it on your travel bucket list? I’d love to hear your favorite destination in the comments!

COME with me on my CO2 Journey.
This is day 2 (I had it early yesterday) post treatment at my practice with NP Lindsay & PA Junean.

-Feeling tight but no pain. I’m surprised but I don’t feel hot/burny sensation like I have in past with other lasers.

-I’m lathered in aquafor. The goal is to keep skin moist and clean. No sun.

-I’m a little swollen but not as bad as I expected. I can add vinegar/distilled h20 soaks if needed (I have not needed).

-Stay tuned for slides on how we pretreat different skin types. Expectations etc!

GROWTH HORMONE “peptides” are trending — and my patients ask about them daily. Many patients are practicing “Self Social Media Medicine SSMM”. 👇 (DNP perspective)
💉
Most common names I hear:
Sermorelin • CJC-1295 (± DAC) • Ipamorelin • GHRP-2 • GHRP-6 • Hexarelin
📕
3 things to know before injecting anything:
🔬
Not FDA-approved for “anti-aging,” fat loss, or muscle building. Social media claims ≠ clinical proof.
📕📕
If it says “Research Use Only (RUO)” → it’s not intended for human injection.
📕💉
These target the GH/IGF-1 pathway (a growth pathway). Possible downsides can include swelling/fluid retention, headaches, tingling/carpal-tunnel symptoms, appetite changes, and blood sugar issues—and long-term safety is unclear when sourced online.
👩‍⚕️
What I recommend instead:
✅ Discuss with your medical provider before starting (and before combining with anything else).
✅ Review medication interactions, your medical history, and whether it’s even appropriate.
✅ Avoid self-injecting products purchased online without verified sourcing/sterility.
If you’re hearing about a peptide from an influencer, pause and verify first.
