The Barley Sheaf Players Teen Production of Merrily We Roll Along- Words cannot begin to express how I feel about this show. Franklin Shepard was the hardest role I have ever portrayed and I don’t know how any role will top this one. Goodbye, Frank.

“I’m so sick and tired of looking back and… I can’t stand still”

I wish I was able to keep looking forward after this show

I know im always one for sappy posts after shows, but I really think this one deserves it. This show was my first lead role outside of school, and this a lot of my “firsts” in the world of theater. My first lead, my first set of production photos, my first solo, my first stage kiss, my first multiple weekend show, etc. I remember a lot of things about my first time, like how I was going to audition for Garvin originally, hearing Almost Paradise for the first time and deciding to audition for Ren, getting the casting email, and most importantly, my opening night bow which was the exact moment I decided I wanted to pursue a career in theater. And while both productions were amazing in their own ways, receiving the privilege of playing my break out role again just over two years later, and being able to not only experience these emotions again but also enhance the work I had already worked on, there have been very few things in my life that have topped the feeling of opening night of this show. I could go on for hours and hours about everyone but unfortunately I have neither the time nor the space in a single post. Sam, you’re so amazing and I am honored to have gotten to share the stage with you once again. Zach W, you are so hilarious and were absolutely perfect for this role. Zach L, our scene is one of the single most beautiful things I’ve ever done in theater and a LARGE part of that is you. To the girls, Ari, Reagan, Sophia, and Jacey, you all are so ridiculously talented and this show truly wouldn’t have been the same if you did not bring your kindness and talents to the stage. I love you all so very much and I am honored to have been your Ren McCormack once again and I can’t wait to work with you all again. But until then, the sky’s the limit because I’ve got this feeling that time ain’t holding me down. ❤️
