washed & made new from death to life ✞

a few weeks ago i was blessed with the wonderful opportunity to share my testimony & publicly declare Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and what a gift that is !!! & what a gift it was to be baptized by my best friend and sister in Christ !!! my heart abounds and my cup truly overflows !!!!

i can never find the words to convey all that Jesus has done in my life, but i’m eternally grateful for His faithfulness, love, & mercy. and even more grateful that He has continued to grow the seed that has been planted in me.

while i can’t find the right words, a verse that i have always carried with me and depicts this is, 1 Peter 1:24-25, which says, “All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord endures forever.”

this verse reminds me that everything in this world fades, but God’s Word and His love for me never will. through this, i learned to accept the love & forgiveness that Jesus granted me. and through Him, my spirit and heart grow.

another verse that i’ve come to understand is 2 Corinthians 4:10-12 which says, “We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.”

before Christ, i was chasing fulfillment in the world, but now, i’ve found the only real fulfillment there is, Jesus. while death is at work in me, He is also at work in me, keeping my steps aligned with His. and in Him, i am not dead, but alive !!!!

what He did for me on that cross deserves my whole life in return. my identity is being found only in being a daughter of the Most High King and i chose to live for Him every day.

i truly am not the same person i was a year ago, and i’m beyond grateful that Jesus loved me enough to transform me from the inside out. the radical love of God causes us to have a radical love for Him; this is heart surrender and this is what Jesus has done in my life.

my new self isn’t just a better version of who I used to be; it’s Christ living in me.

He gave me breath so i give Him everything. 💗
