Tonight was a FULL CIRCLE moment for me. When I was 11 years old, I went to my parents and told them that GOD spoke to me and instructed me to get to a church in Macon Georgia. They were radical enough to allow me to follow the voice of GOD. The Pastor of that church, the late Pastor Teddy Parker Jr., gave me an opportunity to do what I was called to do and helped me become fortified in who GOD called me to be as a worship leader. Tonight his wife, daughters, and mother and father-in-law were in service with us. I’m grateful for his yes to GOD in giving me the space to develop and grow🙏🏾

May what TPJ made happen for me, happen for them 10X OVER!🥹🙌🏾🙏🏾

Grateful is an understatement… On August 12th this young man in the first picture was shot at a local high school. He came to @thealtarchurchwr about a month BEFORE the shooting and has continued to attend for the past few weeks… Tonight, HE GAVE HIS LIFE TO CHRIST!

Altar Church, I’m PROUD of you for pressing, in my absence tonight. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

📸 First day of school pics from my big boys!

📕Story Time: Yesterday was a rough day for The Powers clan. We had a fantastic morning and everyone was excited for school. Once we got to the building Alden realized that Kyler was going a different direction, and the tears began! He cried and cried and cried, so much so that we were asked to come pick him up early! 😭😮‍💨 My momma heart was so hurt, so then I cried, prayed, and cried some more! 💔 I couldn’t understand why the transition was so tough for Alden… he’s super smart and full of joy!

🤔Realization Time: Montel and I talked it through the whole day, prayed, and reasoned together. He reminded me that our children are so different and I have to be settled in that fact. Kyler has my personality and Alden has his father’s, and I have to be okay with Alden doing things in his own timing. I knew it, but I need the constant reminder.

🙌🏾Testimony Time: We approached our entire day differently and Alden had a WONDERFUL re-do of his first day of school! He found his stride and joy throughout the day! And he was so proud of himself, as were all his teachers and classroom helpers. They all rushed to the car to tell us about his wonderful day!🥹 Thank you to @thewestfieldschool faculty who walked with my baby (I mean big boy) through a very rough day! It’s going to be a GREAT YEAR! 🐝💚

He did so well and didn’t want to leave…so that’s a good sign! 🥹😮‍💨 And he has the same teachers that Kyler did for Pre-K!❤️ Kyler is headed to 1st grade… he led the way for his brother and ran into some good friends! God Bless their teachers, friends, and school year! 🙌🏾

Last night we extended the call for salvation and there was one hand that went up in the building… One of the GREATEST JOYS OF MY LIFE was to have the opportunity to lead MY SON(Kyler 6 years old) to Christ last night…
Thank you Jesus🥹

Kyler Joshua Chronicles💙

Kyler: Daddy, today is June 19th…

Me: Yes it is

Kyler: And do you know what that means?

Me: what buddy?

Kyler: Toy Story 5 is in CINEMAS(yes He said Cinemas😳)

I had an itinerary today but first on the list was heading to see Toy Story 5! Taking him to the movies this morning meant much more to him than it cost me to rearrange my day… and everything was accomplished💙
