my first triathlon 🥹🤍🚴‍♀️

without a doubt, this was the hardest thing i have ever done, both physically and mentally. my stomach was upset, i could not get my heart rate under control, my lungs were burning after coming off being recently sick. that said i am beyond pleased with the result! how blessed am i to be able to do this FOR HIS GLORY

36:02 swim: this actually was too bad! the water was the PERFECT temp, but i had a really hard time sighting the buoys. overall very pleased!

2:21 T1: this was the start of the high heart rate. after the swim and transitioning into my bike gear, i was feeling quite dizzy and winded. but i powered through and was off on the bike!

1:22:33 bike: averaging 18.1 mph on a course with rolling hills and having only started riding my bike 1 month ago, very happy with this. however, i was feeling very nauseous and, once again, could not get my heart rate under control. i truly kept trying to remind myself that i was doing this with God’s strength, not mine, and honestly it really helped me push through.

1:16 T2: smooth. easy. time to run.

58:11 run: this was BY FAR the worst part. hills, sunny, heart rate, the list goes on. SO many prayers and so many conversations with Jesus on this run. i felt like i was on the verge of tears this entire part of the race. i just felt like i had nothing left to give. i knew i was under fueled but the thought of ingesting anything made me want to barf. this is the only portion i am “disappointed in” solely because i know i can run faster.

overall time was 3:00:41 and i got 1st overall in my age group (there were only 4 people lol…). this is just the start. i am so grateful for the Lord’s goodness and to have this body to do this. TYJ 🤍🤍🤍
