Watching Jack grow through adaptive sports has been one of the most emotional and rewarding experiences for our family. This year he learned what it truly means to be part of a team — supporting each other, working hard together, celebrating victories together, and growing through every moment together. The Kato Knights Adaptive Floor Hockey Team worked incredibly hard all season to make it to State, and finishing 2nd overall is something we are beyond proud of. Seeing Jack experience that journey with his teammates was unforgettable. Then Jack decided to try adaptive bowling for the very first time this year. He absolutely loved it, and he and his partner Kenny made it all the way to State as well. Even though they didn’t place, the accomplishment of making it to State in both sports during the same year is something truly special. One of the proudest moments as a parent was seeing Jack, as an 8th grader, already earn his varsity letters for Mankato East High School in both hockey and bowling. What an incredible honor. We are beyond grateful these adaptive programs exist for our kids. The coaches have been absolutely amazing — their patience, dedication, encouragement, and genuine love for these athletes means more than words can express. They are giving these kids opportunities to grow, compete, belong, gain confidence, and experience the joy of being part of something bigger than themselves. As a parent, my heart is overflowing with pride, gratitude, happiness, and joy. I honestly don’t know how we could ever repay what these programs and coaches have given to our son and our family. The impact they have made on Jack’s life will stay with us forever.
