Going through another speed session using 5 techniques for generating speed

1. Fast backswings (moving the club/hands as fast as possible)

2.high hands (hands travel as high and away as possible)

3. Lift left heel (left heel lifts to aid rotation)

4. Jump (feel vertical force out of left leg jumping up and around)

5. Steps (pronounced steps to generate force transfer)

I did two reps of each measuring which generated the highest club head speed

Comment which one you think was fastest for me today?👇🏻

My Two Swing Thoughts Right Now!

What Are Yours?

Had a bit of time to reflect on Spains performance so if anyone was keeping note, here's the run down...

Achieved a pb 374 yards
Got to the knockout stages
Clubhead speed getting faster every time I pick up a club
Ball going further which is the name of the game
Finding a good mental footing to compete on

All good news, and don't get me wrong I am thrilled with my progress, but to say I am gutted with my result is an under statement.

As Golfers will know, getting ahead of yourself in a round or competition is lethal and detrimental to achievement.

I came up against Josh #@uklongdrive who is an experienced fierce competitor, but in my head, because it wasn't the ever successful @billytruman2 that I'd faced every other time, I got ahead of myself instead of thinking about the task at hand.

Much like when anyone is looking to play high level Golf, the mental game is more important than the physical, I've hit enough balls, just needed to control my emotions and thoughts.

A learning experience none the less, and great to have a pb.

Well done @joshlongdrive well done @jamestaitgolf (also thank you James for your wisdom and conciliatory chat)

Final thoughts

I have not enjoyed Golf, and practicing this much in a very long time. The events are the absolute highlights of my life right now and I cannot wait to compete again. Thank you all for your support, kind messages etc.

If someone fancies sponsoriong or knows someone that would be up for it, please sweet jesus give me a call

Onto the next

Do you practice getting faster?

There's always the illusion or even jelousy of people that can hit the ball long, but do you do it?

I can't putt for love nor money, but I don't practice it much, if at all, so I've come to peace with it.

This is what that practice looks like, an hour and a half, of sweating, swearing, and a lot of unkind words.

I will be opening up a skillet account in the coming weeks, if you are stuck for speed. Lost your yardage, stay tuned

Having broken my clubhead speed record in Germany, I've got that mental block out of my head, and now we're pushing onto the next.

Current clubhead speed record is 141.3 mph and ball speed is 204mph

To think I was barely breaching 130mph and 190mph respectively, not even 5 months ago, shows the work is paying off

In this last practice session I had close to 20 balls, that were over 140, and 200.

Just a shout out to @marlboroughgolf for allowing to use the sim

The facility there is second to none, AND has air conditioning. As if you needed any other excuse to book in
