As South Park poetically put it, where’re gonna have a Montage! Montages are an essential tool in filmmaking. They help display something getting done fast which helps your pacing and saves space for other character developments in your movie. It can be cliche but it can also be entertaining and powerful depending on how you use it. Happy montaging and make some great film! Hard at work or hardly workin?

What a day!! Yesterday I was lucky enough to put on the name tag again for the day and play Elder Cunningham on Broadway in @bookofmormon for the first time in getting close to two years! I laughed, I cried, I had the most wonderful two shows full of so much joy with old and new friends!! Beyond grateful to this cast and crew who are like my family, AND also my actual family and friends who came out to the shows!! 😭😍 Also my first time ever doing the show with @jackbaughiv and @syd.quildon which was just a total blast. Obviously the best support text from @kclay6 in the morning too 🥹 It truly never gets old being a part of this show, and standing on a Broadway stage, and wow to think if I could tell little me he gets to be on Broadway?! Wow. Ok gonna cry again. Thanks for such a truly special magical day. Love you all so much!! ♥️♥️

What is opacity in film editing? It’s an effect that lets you take the intensity of an image and fade it to the point that it blends into the scene to make it match. That may not be the technical term but that’s basically what does. It really makes all the difference when dealing with premade VFX in your indie movie. If you have the money it’s always better to get an expert but at least you can do it yourself like I had too. These are two clips from my short movies the Afternoon Club and The Academy demonstrating its use with smoke effects.
