Motivate The Youth

16 letters, 3 words, 1 meaning.

I’ve taken a few days to process that I’ll never play for this program again and how I’m going to handle that. 3rd grade was when it all started, when I asked my dad after every single game to quit. Thank god he never let me. I learned to love the game and everything that came with it. Meeting everyone I have through it, Games, practices, team meals, bonding, getting shots at any time of the day, it all completed a peice of me. Throughout basketball and life, especially this year, I learned a few things. One is out of adversity comes challenge and success. Another is listen more then you speak, you understand things better, and I like to think about those every day. I got asked the other week “how do you want to be remembered?” I think those first three words of the caption are exactly how. It’s crazy to me how I was once one of the young kids coming to games thinking it was the coolest thing ever to see @zach_gezella and @patrick_suemnick play. Now that I’m older, I’ve realized I’m very appreciative of all the kids who come to the games, look up to our team, and myself, and are there asking us questions after the game and cheering us on no matter what.

To my boys, I’m going to miss playing with every single one of you. Teams come and go, but the memories stay forever.
To my family, thank you guys for being there for every step of the way, for honoring countless hours to watching me, and being there for me through thick and thin and having my back through it all.
To the student section, and the community, I appreciate the support, the miles driven, and giving us a reason to go play on any given night.

This is by far and away one of the toughest goodbyes I’ll have to ever swallow, and I wish I could start over and redo everything. I don’t know if any amount of words will ever truly express my gratitude for this sport and if I’ll ever really get over it.

At ease uno

Thank you Basketball 💜💛
