(And now for a 60 sec ⏰ break)

We meant to post this around, ohh, umm, last fall 🫣...then aviation ✈️ happened as it tends to do around here.

Almost 9 months later, we’re finally sharing this awesome drone footage from our 55th Anniversary Open House.

Enjoy this bird’s-eye view of a day filled with airplanes & helicopters, families making memories, kids discovering aviation for the first time, and our amazing community that showed up in a big way!

While the weekend looked quite different than originally envisioned, we’re so proud of what we accomplished together. None of it would have been possible without our planning committee members, the loyal support of our sponsors who stayed with us despite the change of plans, hundreds of volunteers, dozens of vendors, and so many JGG pilots, and of course, the Waltrip family — who thankfully plowed a runway 55 years ago and helped create what JGG has become today: a gateway to the Commonwealth and a door to all things aviation for anyone who wants to join us, and especially those who aviation needs.

General Aviation airports like ours thrive when we make ourselves accessible to everyone. So if you’re ever nearby, our ramp is always open...just maybe don’t wait 9 months to stop by 😏

55 Years. Together we fly.

9/14/25 - I probably have a million @pietasters photos from the last 25 years or so and they all kind of look the same but this is kinda cool -- Steve singing to a drone!!!

The second photo shows the drone in focus. :)

As we finish up the last official post about the 𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐚 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥, it’s finally sinking in, what an incredible moment this is for the community as a whole. We didn’t just rig the most advanced urban line to date in the States; we also got to host the second official speed highline competition and the first-ever Urban Speed Highline comp in the U.S.

We’re also opening the door further to so many new possibilities for urban highlining in the States. If you can imagine it, it’s probably possible. Much appreciation and gratitude to all the athletes who brought their energy, creativity, and drive to this comp. Y’all made it what it was! ❤️

Here’s to the continued growth of highlining as a sport and art form in the U.S.! 🤘🔥

Thanks to @danmathieu and @lovett_behindthelens for capturing the essence of our segment perfectly!

There is literally no place like home! @cousinzfestival 🖖🏾

This was the biggest family reunion I’ve had in a while & I was reminded how beautiful Virginia culture has influenced the entire world — and I am honored to be apart of that legacy.

This day was also bittersweet because after soundcheck before my performance, I was told that my mentor and brother @fatmanscoop transitioned to the other side. We had such an amazing relationship and we always ran into each other in different countries. Prayers up to his family & friends 💐 🙏🏾

Thank you @kingpush @hitmybeeper @realantonio_ @thernbblockparty @yusufyuie for having me apart of this legendary moment for the 757!!! Y’all got me 4L!!! 🖖🏾🖖🏾🖖🏾
