Two blockers. Still couldn’t clock Wincher out.

DITV Film Room breaks down UTRGV’s run defense: Wincher fights off the double, Richie Rich fills inside, and Connor Carrigan sheds and pursues. The tackle gets noticed. The work around it makes it happen. 🌴✌🏽956

@jackharwell @utrgvfootball was locked in the lab for the entire winter/fall break. We put an extra focus on hip transitions with a 1-2 cadence in the rush. It’s important for DLineman to minimize steps through out every phase of their rush. 1, 2, 3, and 4. Stay active and maintain verticality in the rush! Eyes, hands, hips, and feet are married!

They don’t make very Nosetackles like @jackharwell of @utrgvfootball

Scope of the drill: KEEP FEET ACTIVE IN THE RUSH, MINIMIZING STEPS TO YOUR TARGET, HIP TRANSITIONS WITH LATERAL STEPS (45 degree)

Crazy improvements! Listen to your athletes deficiencies!

The amount of Transverse Force is crazy. That shot will definitely displace an OL. Most importantly get your hips into the gap! NT/DT @jackharwell @utrgvfootball Training with violence. Training with intentionality.

Training Scope: No wasted movement in the rush, angling hips to your target in the rush, keeping hands and feet active . It is hard to replicate my training methods, simply because of the amount of study time I put into studying the game and each athlete. Each athlete that locks into my performance enhancement program (1 on 1), are instantly entering to a 2 to 3 year program. DT/NT @jackharwell @utrgvfootball is in his second year. So we are focusing on every deficiency starting from the ground up! The most powerful athlete I have seen in a while.
