this restaurant is super dope! my gworlll and I recently went for a girls night! its extremely exclusive and intimate. you are instantly transformed to the buzzing streets of Tokyo. this Japanese omakase restaurant is located in nyc in Chinatown in a hidden alley way. it most definitely pays homage to Tokoyo.

Nakaji has small horizontal windows along with a hidden large, locked door with a doorbell on it. You must ring the doorbell in order to be allowed in. you are required to have reservations as they do not allow walk ins.

The chef is a Japanese native and used to train in Ginza. He is very particular as to how he serves the fish. Every day there is something different on the menu because the chef never likes to repeat anything. He wants it to be a new experience every time! The fish itself is very divine and newly harvested, coming straight from Japan! The general manager is extremely kind and knowledgeable, I had a great time learning about the history behind everything at the restaurant.

The food is unique and full of exquisite flavors. My favorite dish was the special of the night which was the blowfish and also the miso cucumbers. There are two separate rooms in the restaurant, the bar and the dining area. The bar only seats 8 people, it is very intimate and cozy. You don’t even feel like you’re in nyc. The dining room is solely for the sushi bar experience and that only seats 10 people. The drinks paired very well with each course and I loved how a portion of the sales went to charity. Overall 10/10 recommend to everyowne for a unique experience! Perfect for date nights or special occasions✨
