I didn’t think I needed the light. After all, I’ve lived in my home long enough to move through it in the dark. Until one night, it wasn’t. One misstep. My foot reached for a step that wasn’t there. In that moment, a quiet but unsettling thought came: Maybe I’ve been moving through life the same way, trusting routine, relying on what used to work.

Looking for answers, I opened Scripture, and Isaiah 42:16 met me right where I was: “I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them …”

Those words became a safe place to land and shone like a light down the hallway of my heart when I was too weary to pretend I had it together. I realized Isaiah was not only speaking to God’s people centuries ago; he was also speaking to anyone who has felt lost, uncertain, or overwhelmed.

That was the reminder my heart needed. I don’t have to figure everything out. My job isn’t to have all the answers; it’s to trust the One who does.

Maybe that’s what you need too. Even if the familiar ways aren’t working anymore, that doesn’t mean you’re stuck. It might be God’s invitation to walk with Him in a new way, to stop striving to lead and start learning to be led. Start trusting Him with the unknown, knowing He never loses His way.

I’ll admit unfamiliar paths can feel overwhelming. But trying to navigate them without God? That’s even harder. So if your heart feels heavy and the road ahead seems unclear, friend, take heart: You’re not walking alone. The One who holds tomorrow is walking with you today.

You’re not lost. You’re being safely led.

God’s silence doesn’t mean He’s absent in our waiting. It’s often the space where He’s working, preparing, protecting, and making a way.

Today if you’re feeling adrift and abandoned, still waiting and wondering what’s next, anchor your hope to these three truths, friend:

1. God sees you. You aren’t forgotten (Genesis 16:13).
2. God is working even when it’s not apparent (Isaiah 64:4).
3. God equips you to wait well just like He did Noah (Genesis 6:14-16).

Sometimes the rain stops but the waters remain high — healing and hope don’t always arrive all at once. Yet in God’s great love and unfailing compassion, the waters will subside and hope will rise because God is a promise keeper.

My hope isn’t in what I see. It’s in the One who remembers me. And He remembers you too.

If you’re struggling with worry, here are three steps I’ve learned that may help you trust God more fully:

1. Identify your anxieties. Write down your concerns, and consider sharing them with a trusted friend. Acknowledging worries empowers us to overcome them.

2. Pray through your fears. Prayer helps us demonstrate faith in God’s sovereignty over our lives and shifts our focus from our limitations to His limitless power.

3. Choose to surrender. Trust is a continual choice. When worries arise, remember you don’t carry them alone. Entrust them to God, knowing He’s reliable and ready to help.

These steps won’t make life worry-free, but my prayer is that they anchor your faith and strengthen your trust in God.

Several years ago, I went through a life altering circumstance that made me question my value. Before that hardship, I was confident in who God created me to be, but afterwards, the pain of what happened left me feeling inadequate and void of hope. My life had been shattered in ways I couldn't have imagined. I was unable to forgive or figure out how life could ever be good again.

Perhaps you too have experienced a life altering event that has made you question your worth, or made you wonder if you could ever live an abundant life again.
