I came back here for a season with family. To open a circle of healing and peace for folks to lean into. In the process, all were swept up in this Knicks adventure. I moved through frustration (ATL G3), elation (13 Straight!) and laughing while crying on the floor, unable to move (OG!!) It healed the young Knick fan I carry within me, and connected me to my roots in many beautiful ways.

This parade was about meeting each other again. This was a circle of healing and connection. Grateful to friends for calling me in, with young children in tow to share this joy with. Grateful to this city for its grit, for continually reinventing itself while never forgetting a thing.

I kept thinking (And yelling) one thing throughout the journey. The blowouts, the comebacks, the alumni hugs and cheers, the tense moments so amplified by living all other outcomes that dared us to lean in deeper. IT'S ALWAYS BEEN US. And I truly believe we are forever changed by a shared moment of joy. #Knicks #NBAChampions #Thankyou #Itsalwaysbeenus

Studio BTS Dump
•
As much as I love the studio, it has handed me some of my toughest challenges.
From not knowing anything to experimenting at the crib with a backdrop and a terrible lighting set up, to figuring out my around and eventually finding my style, playing around with lighting, readjusting my camera setting for the umpteenth time, client work, and helping out friends with their projects.

Every day presented a new challenge, another puzzle to put together, another story to unravel.

It always starts the same, with emptiness.

And we are artist have to be bold and brave enough to fill the space… trusting nothing our gut an experiences.

Take this with you through you creation process this week

Happy Monday!

Episode 10 Drops Today at Noon.

Ever consume a play, a tv show, movie or even a song and have your feelings toward that work change after you’ve sat with it a while?

Where is the line between sharing a strong point of view and manipulation? Can you be manipulated if it’s something you already agree with?

Down the Rabbit Hole, indeed.

How to fit 7 months into 20 slides (8/2/24-3/2/25) 🏁 The NALIA Commemorative/Passport residency at @thelinehotel L.A. was a legendary run! Here are some of my most memorable moments 🎁

Huge thank you to @glowlala for extending this opportunity to me & for believing in my practice. Salute @dramaticallymee for your tireless advocacy—you’ve opened so many doors for the creative community here in L.A. Both of you have been an amazing support system & I’m forever grateful for your collaboration 🙏🏾

The biggest goal for my first residency was to “world build” and create a platform that would allow me to explore multiple aspirations. The NALIA Commemorative was not only a souvenir shop but a through line for collective memory, gathering, shared interests & an opportunity to exercise various skillsets as a multidisciplinary.

I was able to curate an intentional space that championed culture & allowed me to collaborate with numerous creatives. Much appreciation to anyone who ever passed by the shop or attended an event. I met some amazing individuals—you all have contributed to the success of this experience & I’m humbled by your support.

“Create what you want to create because you want to create it; with love & intentionality. Everything else is secondary.” This is perhaps the greatest takeaway from my residency! I witnessed the evolution of an idea from start to finish & I’m exceptionally proud of myself despite any opposition. Perseverance is the word & I’m surely a better artist for of it.

As for what’s next—keep up with @naliabrand online until we find a new home 👀 Excited for what’s ahead, onto a next chapter! Much love 💯
