Our fourth and final fortnightly jazz doof sesh for this year is coming up next Thursday 12/12. This time we’ll be celebrating the release of a new single from our resident cosmic doof wizard @luxtrevis. We’re holding it outdoors in the courtyard this time no BYO.

Fresh off a couple of stunning single releases and a performance at Phoenix Central Park we will have @heapssgrass opening up the night.

Next up we will have our cg discs label boss @levos___ descending from his 5 star suite in the international space station to play a selection of records that are equally funky as they are filthy.

To close out the night we have @luxtrevis with his band of space aliens that are going to doof you into realms previously unexplored. He’s launching a single that day and then flying to his homeland of Brazil the day after for some musical adventures and we’ll be giving him a hero’s farewell in the best way we can.

Tix in the bio, only $20 no BYO

✨JACK ROSENZWEIG✨presents a new solo set for drums and electronics inspired by his recent experiences at the Banff Centre in Canada. Each piece occupies its own unique soundscape, which Jack combines with live drums and triggered sounds to create a richly layered texture. This will be Jack’s debut solo outing.

Jack Rosenzweig is a 23 year-old drummer and composer in his fourth year of studies at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Jack is involved in many original projects, including HEAPS GRASS, EBS, Motion Quartet and Flux State and is looking forward to recording his first solo album in early 2025.

This Wednesday 27th November
JAZZ UPSTAIRS featuring 'FAUNA'
6pm - 7pm, tickets from $10

Featuring Australian jazz legend Jonathan Zwartz alongside major emerging talents Wilbur Whitta and Jack Rosenzweig, FAUNA emerges from the imagination of trumpeter-composer Alex Raupach onto the landscape of Australian improvised music with its debut tour in November 2024.

Conceived as ‘a band of beautiful ears’, the musicians come together not just because of how they play, but how they hear. Raupach’s compositions form the backdrop, setting the course for a long, shared stream of consciousness that flows through a secret garden of wide minimalist spaces, intricate harmonic cascades, and pools of dreamlike improvisation.
