I’m sorry to break it to a lot of you kids but there’s is no secret workout or drill that will replace EXPERIENCE!!! “JUST GO PLAY” and then “GO PRACTICE”… That may sound backwards but sometimes you gotta play in order to FIGURE OUT what you need to work on. Obviously you gotta train but you gotta spar too. Just like a boxer or a mma fighter hitting the bag isn’t enough. You gotta anticipate, react, counter! Those are skills too, you gotta learn how to COMPETE! Learn how to WIN and how to LOSE. Train,Train,Train! Then go play and learn how to apply those skills.

#Purpose

I didn’t choose this life.
This life chose me.

The pressure.
The sacrifice.
The long nights nobody sees.
The responsibility that comes with the gift.

I just answered the call.

Now it’s bigger than passion.
Bigger than motivation.
It’s purpose.

And when purpose chooses you,
you don’t get to show up only when it feels good.

You carry it.
You live it.
You become it.

I ask myself a lot of times on this journey, “Who am I?”

Then I remind myself:

This is who I am.

Every setback, every sacrifice, every early morning, every late night—it’s all part of the person I’m becoming.

I’m not finished yet. I’m just getting started

#Passion | #Love

Many don’t truly understand the grind, commitment, love we as player development coaches/trainers, mentors have for our players!!!

My team and I coached all weekend in Orange County in the prestigious @mscshoops FINALS ( 12 games ) in span of 2 days. Right after #WINNING the Chip at 3pm we rush down to Playa Del Rey at the @thenbpa gym to work with two of our young guns in @stephcastle xs @carterdbryant for Sunday Night Session!!!

For those that claim they want this life —- understand shit ain’t sweet!!! You give your all to many who won’t appreciate or even understand the sacrifice. But do it with love, passion, and be authentic to the GAME!!!

Jackson Elcott, Class of 2030, is a 6’5 wing at Harvard-Westlake. A long, athletic prospect who gets downhill well and is comfortable pulling up off the dribble. Uses his length and mobility to make plays defensively and has the tools to guard multiple positions.
