The Last Light 🪩🌅🪩 Watching this back, we’re reminded of just how special this day really was. To every single person who showed up, danced, smiled, connected, contributed, created, worked behind the scenes, and brought their energy into this space, thank you. Truly. These gatherings have become about so much more than music or throwing a party. They’re about creating spaces where people can come together, let go for a few hours, meet new humans, move their bodies, laugh, love, and experience something that feels genuinely good. We think we need more of that. More reasons to gather. More reasons to dance. More opportunities to choose joy, connection, creativity, and community. We’re incredibly grateful to Summerhill for welcoming us into such a beautiful space and trusting us to bring this vision to life alongside them. We absolutely loved working together, and after experiencing what we created up there for the final sunset of summer, one thing feels pretty certain… The Last Light will be back. 🌅 Consider this the beginning of an annual tradition. Thank you for continuing to show up for Daylight Disco and for making this community what it is. We genuinely couldn’t do any of this without you. Endless gratitude for this blessed sacred life and all the people in it. This summer has been so full, so rich, so nourishing, so fun, so, beautiful, so expansive and so EPIC. My heart is overflowing with immense appreciation for all the lands I’ve gotten to touch, all the souls I’ve got to connect with and all the medicine I’ve had the honour of weaving. It is a deep privilege to walk and weave in this world and through all the sticky bits that have been there too, I’m just in complete awe of how GOOD life is. We get to. A dream come true, this little life. Thank you, thank you, thank you. ✨ Biggest ups to this Great Earth Mother, to Great Spirit, to Cacaosita, my plant and animal allies and most of all, each and every one of the incredible souls that have held me, welcomed me in to their homes and hearts and have made this chapter in Canada so dang special. I love you all so much, so much, SO much!! 🥹🙏🏻 I so cannot wait for another month of play, depth, ceremony, adventure and fun before heading back to Peru. La vida, es muy muy hermosa. Maltiox siempre. Thank you all for being here and for making this life so much more beautiful. The greatest gift. The deepest gratitude. About last weekend! 💃🕺✨ We’re so grateful the weather was in our favor. The sun came out, the evening turned out beautifully, and Casa de Frida ended up being very busy that day! ☀️ A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for dinner. We’re sorry for the delay in getting everyone served, and we truly appreciated your patience and understanding. We definitely enjoyed our dinner after the wonderful dance lessons! Thank you to Nathy, Luis and the wonderful team for another amazing collaboration and for sharing your beautiful, authentic space with our community. A very special thank you to Kristian and Anthony at @SWEATStudio for once again providing us with such a wonderful space for our lessons and performances. Your continued support means so much. A huge shout-out as well to our incredible instructors, dancers, and artists: Jane and Grizzli your Cuban dance performance was great. You guys rocked it! Jackson and Paige your beautiful Kizomba demonstration was incredible! Bree and James thank you for bringing everyone onto the dance floor with your amazing fun beginner Bachata lesson. 🎧 And ofcourse sweet @DJ Kawaii — Katie, for keeping the Latin vibes going all night long! It is always such an honor to work alongside so many talented instructors, dancers, artists, and community partners. We truly appreciate everyone who donated their time and shared their talents with us. We are also incredibly grateful for our Latin social dancers and the community for coming together, and to all the new faces who joined us and became part of the community. Seeing familiar friends alongside new dancers is what makes these nights so special. And once again, a big thank you to our wonderful volunteers Mika and Kayla for giving your time and helping with check-in. Your help behind the scenes is always so appreciated! 😍🙏 Once we have finalized the total amount raised from our three recent events in support of Foundry and Canadian mental health, we’ll be sharing the final total in the next few days. If the weather doesn’t cooperate after dinner, we’ll move the lessons indoors for one hour to SWEAT Studio (529 Lawrence Ave, Kelowna), then head back to Casa de Frida for social dancing.
