1st birthday celebrated without Dad. I felt that void deeply - but also felt SO loved and celebrated the last few weeks! I got to spend time with my family, my girls, went to an Aggie game, watched my kids do what they love, and just spend time at my home-watching the animals.

Since my dad has passed, I have wondered what “sign” I might see and truly feel his presence… would it be a cardinal? A butterfly? A sunset? I took these pictures last week over our pond of these geese flying in… thinking that was it! That was what I needed to see. And then I turned around and said to my brother without even trying to make a joke, ”I always knew dad was a goose!” 😂 and I am still laughing about that sentence.

So maybe that was my “sign” and how I’ll remember Dad and feel his presence…laughter, time together, and witnessing beautiful moments in nature. 🤍

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day.” - 2 Timothy 4:7

With love and gratitude, I share the passing of my father, Paul “Randy” Leake. I will never be able to adequately express how much my dad meant to me. But if you knew him, you can understand. He taught me the most important things in life. How to let small things go, move on, forgive, always do the right thing, work hard, be kind, and to always go to church. He valued family, friendships, and his career, but above all, his relationship with our Lord. He was a great man of faith, and I know exactly where he is. I can only imagine the beautiful celebrations in heaven right now!

He suffered from Alzheimer’s for the past two years. I miss him so much it physically hurts, but I am so grateful that he no longer has to live with such a cruel disease. He is free, he is healed. Amen.

His celebration of life will be Friday, September 12 at The Bridge at Lake Pointe Church in Rockwall. Time and more details to come later today.
