One month of “Far From You”

We have incredible friends and collaborators. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this album.

“Far From You” (album) was primarily recorded in apartments across Los Angeles. Drums for “New Year” and “Far From You” were recorded in Kevin Pontrelli’s pedal workshop (@spookycircuits) in Boyle Heights. Demos for “Far From You” date back as early as 2018. Most were made during the southern hemisphere summer of 2019-2020, while Liam and Jackson were studying abroad in Australia.

“Dream / Dreaming” are out now

Thank you @bennett_coleman (@thecharmband) for vocals on “Dream”

Dream was the first song we made for what became Lawsell Virginia. It was originally an 80s bubbly indie pop song by @thecharmband. One day while on a 2 hour bus ride I decided to “chop and screw” the song - slowing it down and chopping up the guitar. The song evolved and took new form thanks to “Deep Blue Day” by Brian Eno, “Mulholland Drive” directed by David Lynch and marching band ballads.
