2026 Jacks in the House Summer Program
at Morehouse College

Thank you to Jack and Jill of America,Inc. for honoring President F. DuBois Bowman, Ph.D., and First Lady Cynthia Bowman, and contributing $20,000 to the Women Mobilizing for Morehouse initiative through the Jack and Jill of America Foundation. This gift propels Women Mobilizing for Morehouse's total fundraising to more than $500,000—over half of its $1 million inaugural goal.

The initiative is rallying women who believe in the Morehouse Mission and the potential of Morehouse students, from Morehouse mothers, spouses, and mentors to faculty, staff, donors, and advocates, to support the Campus Center. The Campus Center will enrich student life for rising Morehouse Men by uniting academics and community and creating the ultimate environment for scholars to thrive.

#Happybirthday, August!

If you have been keeping up with me then you are keeping up with HIM. He is MY SON, a brother, lover, fighter, leader, 4.0 scholar, athlete, trend-setter, scientist, competitor, musician, caregiver and SO much more. We are so proud of him and who he has become at this young age of 17. It’s hard being great but he does it with a quiet strength and humility.

I have the honor of being his biggest fan so prepare to be SICK of me as @drkirabanks and I cheer him and his brother on these next 12 months. #proudparents

And, if you want to support him with all of his academic tutoring, test prep, leadership attendance, decathlon equipment, basketball training and Chipotle consumption expenses… 🤑😵‍💫😂, hit him up on his #Venmo in the last pic and share some words of encouragement with this exceptional young man who is doing his best to shine in this world. I’m sure he’ll send a ‘thank you’ your way!

That week was single handedly the best week of my summer. morehouse has taught me so much and has locked in my option for where i want to go. no other school has shown me such a brothership

An idea whose time has come.

For one week, 64 young Black men chose the inward journey.

They rose before sunrise.
They wrestled with history.
They sharpened their minds.
They strengthened their brotherhood.
They discovered that leadership is not about position—it is about purpose.

At Morehouse College, Jacks in the House is more than a summer program.

It is a call to become.

To lead with soul.
To live with conviction.
To develop a moral and social conscience.
To understand that the measure of a man is not what he gains, but what he gives.

To our Jacks: carry this work home. Continue becoming. The world needs the men you are deciding to be.

To our families, faculty, Leadership Counselors, staff, and partners—thank you for believing in this vision.

The week has ended. The responsibility has not.

This is a poem I wrote after the very informative Jacks in the House program provided by Morehouse college and the Jack and Jill program. Something I’ve had to privilege of sharing to some of the most educated minds in this country. I speak on how the Black people who have made it to that economic 10% of our community have a tendency to treat the other 90% as lesser when that is the number one thing as a community we’ve agreed to fight. We take our money for granted. We are in some of the best schools and are in the safest neighborhoods and I believe the time that we’ve spent there leads us to grow numb to the struggles of the community. Especially the youth who’ve never experienced the black struggle. Those in our community who have the privilege of never going through the black struggle have a duty to invest something back into the community whether that be money, or education, or supporting businesses. There are many ways to do so but being unresponsive and judgmental, instead of uplifting and understanding is not the way to improve our community. If you are the ten percent I will leave you with these two questions.

I’m truly blessed to have been a part of @jacksxthehouse at Morehouse College. This experience has given me a lifelong brotherhood and introduced me to so many incredible people I’m proud to call my brothers.
