I know I am experiencing a very special moment in life when my brain is being pushed beyond its threshold with new knowledge. I'm doing my best to savor it. I'm embracing it. It's incredible, and I'm so grateful I get to be here. It's a dream I have had, and it's coming true. Now, I'm not trying to become a professional frame builder. I just want to experience this, and learn more. Bicycles have become the driving force in my life. I want to keep pursuing my curiosity. Yesterday, I was too tired to post the remainder of the day. We finished off by some fillet brazing practice. Wow. There are so many factors you have to keep in mind before you even light the torch, and before you aim the torch at a tube. Throttle, tip size, distance, timing, your angle, and then the filler rod itself. It is like a delicate dance. Your rhythm and your steps must be just so. I didn't imagine it could be this hard. Needless to say, I will come out of this experience with a greater appreciation for frame builders. One funny moment I had was that even with the way I braze, I have to be weird. I seem to have accidentally developed a square braze technique, and the teachers can't quite figure out how I'm doing it. They think it's cool though, and said I could make it my signature style like the square watermelon. We also practiced a funny technique called Yamagooch where you try to build a tower. Pretty difficult! I will keep practicing for a traditional circular shape. It's going to take a lot more practice. However, my hand went from scared and shaking in the beginning to developing some confidence by the end of the day. Little by little. #framebuilding @metalgurunation @phillybrazer
