DAY 8: started our last day in Guatemala early with a Sunrise Hike to the Indian Nose overlook over all of Lake Atitlan. The hike was organized with Chabad of San Pedro and included a jam session and a plate of Malawach and boiled egg and some breakfast tea. Such a surreal experience and so wholesome, the view was gorgeous and the hike was very quick to the top. Highly recommended to travel with Chabad in Guatemala!!
Took some funky photos with the moshiach flag #chabaddie
After the hike we headed over to Antigua and then Guatemala City airport to go home 🥲. This trip felt like it ended too soon.

DAY 7: New Year’s Eve 🎇🎆🛥️
Grabbed a delicious breakfast at Sababa restaurant which had a cafe and a restaurant- we ate at both bc why not. View was great too. Then we took a water taxi to San Marcos and did some Cliff Jumping - shoutout TikTok for helping us find that. Met some cool people there who helped motivate me to do the 40 ft drop. The trick is to pencil dive and tuck arms in. My ears were ringing after the landing though - and got a lot of water stuck in them. After cliff jumping we headed over to Eagles Nest to take one of their famous yoga classes. It was almost impossible to find but once we did we were greeted by a serene and scenic studio, restaurant, and hang out spot overlooking the lake. Spectacular. After our class we headed back to San Pedro and stopped by chabad for dinner and some Wednesday night shots (not for NYE dw) and sorted out our last activity of the trip and the shuttle to the airport for the next morning. Then we celebrated NYE by bar hopping and watching the fireworks by the pier. There were fireworks in every direction, and even right next to me which was kinda scary. But definitely an awesome way to welcome in 2026.

DAY 2: Applogies for the delays - it has been a jam packed trip. Started exploring Antigua and walked by the famous Arco de Santa Catalina for some photos. Walked by the ruins of an old church but didn’t pay the entry fee to go in. Then we hit up Caoba Farms, walked around the farm which was huge and had some incredible smoothies, hot chocolate, and Turkish eggs. Next we went to the Hobbitenango park which was cool but a little overhyped. Didn’t have much time to do the attractions but the view was nice and I got some nice arroz con leche. Then went to chabad for Friday night dinner which was very fun.

DAY 1 In Guatemala: Woke up, got some water, tried unsuccessfully to change some dollars to Quetzals, and went to our first activity - a coffee farm tour and tasting. Learned some fun facts about coffee production and different roasts - dark roast is basically less flavor. Bought some amazing chocolate and ate lunch at their restaurant. Next we hiked Volcan Picaya, stopping by some steam pits near the top to roast some marshmallows and heat up some pop tarts. Was yummy, our guide tried a pop tart for the first time. Made it to the top of the volcano in time for sunset which was pretty magical, rode a horse for the last bit of the hike up. Hiked back down in the dark. Stopped at chabad Antigua for an amazing Israeli dinner. Too tired to go out so having a chill night in and going to bed reasonably early.
