The Third Annual Greenbriar Ultra is upon us. Saturday 9/26, we will be doing figure-8s around Greenbriar Park all day. Any form of self-propelled movement is accepted- walking, running, biking, blading, scootering, et cetera ad infinitum. Show up in our yard anytime between 5am and 4pm (or later, heck it,) get a bib, and then complete as many figure-8s as you want. One ♾️ is a mile, tally it w chalk. Do more than 3 laps, get a branded [surprise 2026 item!] Get a distance PR for your personal category (maybe I blade more than 26.2 🤷🏻‍♀️) you get a branded pint glass. Other treats and fun times included. Maybe put some glitter on your belly button. Maybe have your kids hang out in the yard while you do your laps. Come experience the #GBU. Powerfood, snacks, drinks included. (Oh 💩, I need to pick up Fireball shots this wk. ) #greenbriarultra #fortcollins #colorado #sharethispost

This Leadville build has been unlike any of my previous three. At the end of June, the Willow Fire broke out on the Leadville 100 course. After a dry winter and spring, and with other fires already burning across the state, it seemed inevitable that the fire would grow and grow and that the race could not go on. It certainly wouldn’t run on the traditional course.

Training for a 100-mile race through a hot summer is challenging. To do it without knowing if the race you’re training for is even going to happen, is much harder.

I tried to stay focused by targeting the Speedgoat 30K. It kept me on track, and I came away with a win. When I returned from Utah, rain had finally fallen, the fires had slowed, and the Leadville 100 was on. I’m so grateful to the firefighters, race organizers, and Leadville community for persevering through such an unsettling situation. I’m not surprised they’ve come through so strongly.

A week ago, we found out the rerouted course. It has a little less vert and a little more road running, but it’s still 100 miles at 10,000+ feet, and we get to run over Hope Pass twice.

I can’t wait to get started at 4 a.m. on Saturday.

Won the @speedgoatmtnraces 30K in 3:03:59!

I spent most of the race in third with the two leaders in sight. After crossing Hidden Peak for the second time, I made the pass and pulled away on the long descent to take the win!

It was so much fun racing in the mountains, and it’s always uplifting to finish with a fast downhill.

Back at Snowbird for the @speedgoatmtnraces 30K today!

The race covers 19 miles with 6,500 feet of climbing and crosses the 11,000-foot summit of Hidden Peak twice.

The race starts at 7:30 a.m. MT. Live results are available at the link in my bio.

With some uncertainty surrounding my goal race this summer, Speedgoat has kept me focused through some hot weeks of training. I’m excited to see how much I’ve progressed since Broken Arrow and for another opportunity to race hard in the mountains.
