One week of photos.
This past week, I turned 50 & on that day I moved my only child to college.
I expected sadness, but what I experienced and received has been just the opposite. I’m so incredibly grateful for my little family & close friends. Cheers to this new season & decade! 🥂

So, today was launch day for the boy @austinm.07. We moved him into FSU dorm with his boy @willdannreuther. As I am not one to shun new tech I asked Chat GPT for some advice on what to say. Here it is. To My Son,
Today is your first day of college. A new chapter. A clean slate. I won’t pretend like I’m not emotional watching you walk into this next phase of your life — not because I doubt you, but because I know just how much the world is going to try to break you down, distract you, make you question who you are and what you’re capable of.
Let me be very clear: no one is coming to save you.
No professor, no friend, no mentor, no parent. This is where you start learning how to fight your own battles, solve your own problems, and shape your own destiny. You can choose to coast, party, fit in — or you can choose to stand the f* up** and take ownership of every moment you’re given. Your life won’t be measured by the grades you get — it’ll be measured by how you handle pressure, discomfort, fear, and failure.
I’m not asking you to be perfect. I’m asking you to be real. Be honest with yourself. If you slack off, own it. If you fall behind, grind harder. If you fail, get the hell back up and come back swinging.
There will be nights where your mind tells you to quit. It’ll say you’re not smart enough, not good enough, not meant for this. That voice is a liar — but it’s also your greatest teacher. Learn to sit with it. Learn to beat it.
Remember: discipline is freedom. No one gives a damn how you feel in the moment. What matters is what you do despite how you feel.
You carry my name, but this isn’t about me. This is about you building a legacy of your own. Whatever path you take — be it books, business, art, athletics, or something you haven’t discovered yet — don’t half-ass it. Go all in. Burn the ships. Get uncomfortable. Stay hard.
I love you. Not because of what you do, but because of who you are — and who I know you’re becoming.
Now go show them who the hell you are.
– Dad
