One diagnosis. Zero bedside manner. And absolutely no filter.

Twyla is back with medical opinions nobody asked for and the kind of confidence only a mother can have.

Political correctness? Twyla did NOT get the memo 😂

Every family has issues. This one made it a lifestyle…

Laugh first. Realize what you just laughed at LATER.

Honestly, that’s part of the fun.

The Clutterbucks is a dystopian dark comedy about one spectacularly dysfunctional family trying to survive an epidemic, each other, and the absolute certainty that everyone else is the problem.

On the surface, it’s absurd. Underneath? There’s A LOT going on.

That’s one of the great freedoms of making independent film. You get to decide how much meaning lives right out in the open and how much gets tucked between the jokes, the characters, the uncomfortable moments, and the things you might not fully catch until later.

Now we’re curious: What’s the last movie that caught you off guard by being a whole lot smarter or more layered than you expected?

And if you’ve already seen The Clutterbucks… what did you catch? 👀

It’s been almost two months since we released The Clutterbucks.

Since then, critics have called it hilarious, preposterous, frightening, eccentric, savage and surprisingly smart.

We’ve been advised these are compliments.

Respectfully, releasing an independent film is not for the faint of heart. At some point, you have to stop explaining the movie, hand over the keys and accept that whatever happens next is between the audience, Twyla and God.

Okay, James Wegg REALLY watched the movie 👀

Characters. Story. Dysfunction. And then he got to the music…

That’s when we knew. He’s a real one.

Huge thanks to James Wegg Review channel on youtube for the fantastic review and for giving The Clutterbucks such a thoughtful watch. Glad you enjoyed the madness!

The rest? He says it better than we could.

Still haven’t watched? Interesting strategy.

But by all means, don’t take our word for it…

“One of the best surprises I’ve seen onscreen in any genre this year.”

“Hella funny.”

“Savage satire.”

Different critics. Same spectacularly outlandish family.

The Clutterbucks is a dystopian dark comedy about family, politics, relationships, and what happens when everyone is forced under one roof and somehow the epidemic isn’t the biggest problem.

So if you’ve been waiting for a sign…

This is annoyingly probably it.

Shhhhh!!💨 My show is on.

A horticulturalist and a football player fall in love and open a weed shop. The lore is getting concerning…

Because honestly, if it’s anything other than puppy love, we’re sending it back.

The reviews are still coming in, and apparently our weird little family is making an impression.

This time, Carl Burgess at Screen Critix took on The Clutterbucks, calling it “a delightfully eccentric dark comedy” and digging into the character-driven satire, eccentric conversations, and performances that make this family what it is.

What we’re loving most about these reviews is how differently each critic is experiencing the film.

Different moments land. Different characters stick. Different layers get noticed.

And somehow Twyla keeps emerging from all of them relatively unscathed.

Which feels suspicious, ha!

A huge thank you to Carl Burgess and Screen Critix for spending some time with the Clutterbucks and adding another perspective to the conversation.

I watched the film "The Clutterbucks" this morning. I really liked it! Before I start the review I want to thank @richronat for sending it my way. I really appreciate it.

The Clutterbucks is zany yet incredibly relevant sci-fi tinged satire equipped with a sharp humorous wit, quirky morally ambiguous characters, and a tiny bit of heart.

The superb script by director Rich Ronat tells a futuristic story about the complexities of famlies, politics, different ideologies, morality, and love that feels like it was ripped right from the headlines or maybe even your own dinner table. It perfectly captures the dysfunction we all seem to deal with nowadays at a ever-expanding rate.

Laura Vale leads a great ensemble cast that includes Brian Gross, Brit Scott, Jacy King, Kayla Raelle, Bixby Baker, and the voice of Kyle Dunnigan.

The cinematography is well done by Pascal Combes-Knoke and it is accompanied by an awesome soundtrack and score by Dana Niu. It's nicely edited by Lofe Garland and it has some really good production design by Jason Thirlaway. Rich Ronat did a spectacular job directing this absolutely hilarious, outlandish, and delightfully silly comedy that I would highly recommend.

Good characters don’t need your approval.

They just need to live rent-free in your head.

We’re incredibly grateful for all the thoughtful reviews coming in and especially for everyone who’s embraced Twyla exactly as she was written: unapologetic, outrageous, and impossible to ignore.

If you’ve been waiting for permission to watch The Clutterbucks… this isn’t it.

Just watch the movie.

“One of the best surprises I’ve seen onscreen in any genre this year.”

So far, two independent critics. Two very different perspectives. One VERY dysfunctional family.

Thank you to Ken Greaves and IndyRed for taking the time to review The Clutterbucks.

What meant the most wasn’t just the praise — it was seeing someone connect with the layers of the film in exactly the way we’d hoped.
