#CastingByVice for @rioworld @voguerunway 🌍👑

Thank you so much @rioworld & @conticasting for trusting me as your director this season. I feel like after all of the years of being mentored by you both I’ve finally understood why we work so hard, and it’s for a casting like this! Thank you to all 800 models who applied, and to those who made it through the fittings, as well as the runway. All of you were apart in making this dream come true 🥹

Back at it again, this time with my favorite super hero. Gonna give a not-so-brief synopsis of her original story, because I need to dump it SOMEwhere:

Illyana Rasputin, younger sister of the X-Man Colossus was 6 years old when the demon-lord Belasco kidnapped her into the dimension called Limbo. A moment later, she returns, aged 7 years older. While she spent over half of her life in that hell, she was tortured by Belasco and his demons as he was grooming her to become his apprentice. She watched her brother die, along with all of his teammates, some of them fallen to her own hand. His goal was to steal pieces of her perfectly innocent soul, and twist her into the powerful Darkchild, fated to bring the fires of Limbo to earth. Storm of the X-Men taught Illyana defensive magicks, which she used to save the remainder of her soul and turn it into her soulsword. Her sword is the manifestation of her own power and desire to protect herself, super effective against other magic. By the time her mutant power of teleportation manifested and allowed her escape from Limbo, Illyana had taken Belasco's throne and became the sorceress supreme of that dimension. Back in her home dimension, where her brother and friends are alive, she joins the junior team of X-Men, called the New Mutants, under the codename Magik. She now wrestles with her own dark deeds, her seemingly inevitable transformation into the Darkchild, and the indecipherable choice to do what is right.

What a fun character and story she makes!(and I didn't even get close to her death and resurrection) X-Men has taken over my life over the past year, and Magik is the reason why. I've been looking for a reason to make this costume and step into this role, and @theaudballnyc provided. There was drag up the wazoo, Mystique distracted us with a gay wedding while she tore and ate, Jean Grey had a menage a trois with Cyclops and Wolverine, Jubilee created real fireworks, and Toad ate a fly 😉

@bkcomiccon happened to also be this week, so I had to show up. I saw so many amazing costumes and so much creativity. I love, love, love doing this and don't ever want to stop. I'll be back for more at Halloween!!
