On the plane home from one of the best decisions I ever made. @kaylabrenda & @tay.nicollee put on the first @bodylove.sanctuary heels retreat. I signed up to push myself out of my comfort zone, get some great coaching from outstanding dancers, and meet some of the ladies from the app in person.

That all happened of course, but I also wound up having one of the most healing experiences of my life as a woman.

Women can be really shitty to each other- nasty, competitive, unsupportive. It left such a bad taste in my mouth from a very young age, to the point that I have avoided groups of women or even really wanting to connect with being a womanly woman.

This group was nothing but open and supportive. In a way that dudes just aren’t 😂 in a way that made me cry at least once a day, realizing how nice it is to finally feel that at 46.

I witnessed so many acts of personal bravery this past week that left me awestruck. Everyone had something that made them uncomfortable at one point or another, whether it was dancing in front of others or cameras or having experiences we would normally avoid, but we all toughed it out and put ourselves out there and cheered each other on through it all.

I’m going to miss dancing with these ladies so much. Thanks to all of you for showing me what a group of great women can be to each other.

I can walk through heartbreak and make it through a pregnancy single, even though my sweet girl was no accident.
But spending the last 7 months navigating my daughters loss of a second father has been tough. She still says she misses him and asks to listen to his music, and begs to go see him. Asks for the other kids, and says we need to get on an airplane regularly. We don't realize how our relationships affect our children, and I think we under estimate the impact our choices have on them. I can walk through heartbreak but I don't think I'll ever be at a place where I'm willing to allow someone the opportunity to be in my girls life and the option to walk out on them. They don't deserve it, and navigating it isn't ever easy.
So through the anger and bitterness and resentment I ask her what she misses, we look at pictures, we listen to "his" songs and I allow her the space to miss someone she really loved. You'd think after a month or two a three year old would forget, but she doesn't. So we grieve it together.

Big Sur is one of the most magical places to me, I've gained a lot of healing there over the years, heart breaks, life transitions, or just difficult seasons. I've also had a lot of fun there, hiking, camping, partying, cruising around. I knew it's where I had to capture the last month of this pregnancy and the last few weeks where it is just Brooklyn and I. This journey has not been easy, walking through this pregnancy single has been one of the hardest things I've done in my life. We got up early to capture these photos, and as we were driving through the Redwoods this song came one, I'm not even sure how because I didn't have service, and I'd never heard it before but it instantly brought tears to my eyes. It was as if God was speaking directly to me. Hebrews 13:5. As we parked at the next stop @jadealectra embraced me. I hadn't cried in a few weeks, they are far and few between these days. But in that moment, I remembered how broken my heart still remains, as I walked through this season. Yet how grateful for everyone God has put in my path to love on me! I absolutely loved working with @x.keilan.x @jadealectra on this photo shoot! We laughed and cried, took in the fresh morning air, we're grateful and amazed, got hangry and exhausted lol. I’m in the goo phase. That moment after everything falls apart but right before it all comes together. When the caterpillar goes into its chrysalis and completely dissolves everything it used to be before blooming into its highest form. It’s messy and it’s not easy but the reward is worth the struggle.

I know that I’m coming to the other side because my life is full of coincidences. Tiny miracles letting me know I’m on the right path. This photoshoot was one of those miracles.

Right before I went to bed I saw that @jadealectra and @x.keilan.x where looking to do an impromptu photo shoot while they were in AZ. I thought, “what the hell? I’ll send them a message.” Two days later I was waking up at 3am to chase the sun up a mountain with two of the most magical artists I’ve ever met.

I was looking to get some photographs for my Yoga business but I had no idea I was going to have my heart cracked open.

It’s been a while since I’ve felt beautiful and strong in my body and I almost didn’t send that message because of that insecurity holding me back. But as the sun was rising I could feel myself rising as well. I remembered what it felt like to feel at home in my body and the electric rush of moving and creating! I’ll never forget this experience and something tells me it’s going to be a turning point that I look back on fondly. So take the risk, do the thing, even if you’re not ready. You never know when inspiration could take hold and create something beautiful 🤍
