CHEEHUU, who’s ready to ‘inu?

This bar was a PROJECT to say the least. Keep reading if you want the full story…

My mom showed me a photo of a bar that had a corrugated roof front, it was painted a light pink and had the word ALOHA in white painted onto it. I fell in love with the look of it, but of course wanted to make a few tweaks to it to make it more of who @kaeo_nut and I are, so….

My handy-dandy Dad @fromkels_2b custom built the whole thing, down to shelves and shelf lighting for our amazibg bartenders Mike and Blacie - who btw slanged drinks till like 1am that night! If you need bartenders for your wedding, they are it!

We wanted this corrugated roof front, and boy did we underestimate how tough it would be to actually draw out the CHEEHUU. After many failed attempts, and LOTS of brain storming, and a little bit of arguing with Kaeo 😂 we called reinforcements. My beautiful cousin @jadekaawa who is literally an artist - like she went to art school 😍 came in and saved the day. She measured and scaled, and sketched. Long story short she understood the mother-efffing assignment, and sketched out the exact font i wanted, perfect centered, and perfectly just fricken perfect 🤩

We then needed to figure out how to paint it. I was adamant about it being this specific color, and the wording being white. So my best friends @k3koak @tiaramundon came over for like 4 nights straight to precisely tape over the words. Lots of “concentration medicine” was needed 🍁

Next @k3koak and my dad painted the front with the air compressor, and the color paint i found at Lowes called “ginger”. We peeled off the tape with great anticipation 😬😬😬 and buggah was cherry 🍒! It was everything I wanted it to be and more.

This bar represents our entire wedding. All the willing and giving hearts and hands, all the talent our family and friends posses, and all the endless nights and memories we created. DIY weddings are hard but 1000000% worth it if you have the stamina for it!

So if anyone needs a ginger colored bar that says a big CHEEHUU on it, let me know. She’s for rent 😉 💛🧡🤎
