we’ve been covering the upcoming electronic scene quite a bit. joey cash is another artist in the scene i wanted to spotlight 💛

he has music that follows in the footsteps of artists like the hellp who obviously are one of the biggest in the scene at the moment (and he also got a cosign from him)

i’ll give some backstory for joey first though. growing up in los angeles, joey was exposed to a lot of the blown-out bass and textured synth edm that he shows today in his music. his latest release, “what do you want me to do?,” showcases him fully embracing that sound with one of his deepest and most moody releases yet. with the help of some echoing vocals from bella athena, the song is a lot more introspective and emotionally deeper than his typical house bangers. the layering synths and whispering vocals leave this being one of his most immersive and atmospheric tracks yet

he’s been getting a lot of love from the electronic community as a whole as well. with artists and groups like the hellp and bassvictim each giving him co-signs. the hellp actually played his song, “swallow,” at their 2025 coachella set. tracks like “swallow” and “lose control” really showcase his ability to flip such obscure samples into absolute bangers. the build on “lose control” into an absolute explosion of edm chaos was really energizing

the song that started it all for him was “r u kissing any1?,” which dropped in 2024. starting off with a choir of kids chanting “are you kissing anyone” over and over, this song is immediately offputting. joey is really great at setting up songs and creating an atmosphere that almost feels like a horror movie. this single was all over tiktok and still shows up on my fyp to this day. with over 3 million streams now, this song was a huge debut for joey

joey’s easily one of the most versatile artists out in the la underground electronic scene atm. what do y’all think? how do you like joey’s sound and his latest single? lmk below <3
