a life in a year 💛

11 months ago I boarded the plane to the United States for my exchange year. Not knowing what to expect and how it would all go. I just had a suitcase and a dream (and a backpack and carry-on. but anyways.) - a dream so big I left my life in Germany behind and threw myself into the unknown.
10 months later I had to leave the place that became my second home. Had to leave the people - you - that made it so special. I really cannot put into words how much it meant and means to me, but I think everyone who knows me knows. I am so deeply grateful for all the memories I got to make and adventures I was able to experience. I am so grateful to have had the best host family and friends I could‘ve wished for.

This year has taught me that we there’s more to us ourselves and everyone else than where we are from. It taught me that everyone of us has an impact but that it‘s up to us what kind we have.
This world might be cruel (for sure is!) but we can make it less cruel, one by one and day by day. Looking closely, listening to people and reminding ourselves that we‘re all the same. No matter what we look like or where we come from. We‘re all humans, we‘re all people - and we all deserve to be loved and love.

Love you guys so so much and miss you!! But be sure, this is not a goodbye but a see-you-later. 💛
