17 years ago today, Katy Perry and Jadyn Maria recorded “Man’s World”. Around this time, Katy mentioned the track in several tweets, calling it a potential #1 hit, but the song never came out.

Jadyn Douglas (then known as Jadyn Maria) shared a similar background to Katy: “We both grew up as PKs in the church, in the Christian music industry. That was a part of both of our lives. We met about six years ago [2003].”. Also, you might also remember Jadyn appearing as one of the bridesmaids in “Hot N Cold”. Between 2007 and 2009, she was signed to EMI and working on her debut album, which ultimately never came out. “Man’s World” was intended as a lead single for an album of the same name, reportedly set for late 2009 (with some sources even pointing to December 29).

Despite Katy being featured on the leaked version, Jadyn said in some interviews that the song wasn’t gonna be a duet: “I was working with co-writer and producer, D. Smith, on that song and I decided it would be really cool to bring her [Katy] in… We thought about doing it as a duet, but I ended up doing it by myself.” She also described the song’s message as: “It’s very woman-empowering but not man-bashing… we are strong enough to not let that be an excuse for anything.”

Fast forward to 2023, when producer D. Smith was interviewed by “PrideSource” and the interviewer wrote “Smith recently completed work on a new song, “Man’s World,” for an album Katy Perry is currently recording.”... was it a mistake (maybe early rumors about “Woman’s World”), or was the real song revisited? How many of you knew about this track?

There’s something really special about true camaraderie in this industry. 🤍

Real estate can be competitive… but it can also be collaborative in the best way. I’m so thankful for the many outstanding Realtors in Middle Tennessee who pursue excellence on behalf of their clients every single day.
