I loved painting this beautiful outdoor wedding moment for @haylaysmiff and @notreallyjaren 🤍

This romantic venue gave me a unique perspective to capture the first kiss moment and to give it a little extra TLC, I painted this sketch in studio.

During the the event, I had a great time painting guest sketches during the reception! What an amazing night!

The secret is there is no secret. Consistency over intensity. Progress over perfection. Fundamentals over fads. 💪🏼 Over and over again.

What happens when someone intentionally seeks discomfort, human connection, and follows their intuition?

Before I went to Korea, I told myself I was going into this trip determined to capture as much as possible.

I knew I wanted to intentionally place myself outside of my comfort zone. I didn’t know how that would happen. But I knew I was seeking discomfort.

On my mom’s 70th birthday, we went to Gyeongbokgung Palace, the main palace in Seoul. And that’s where it happened.

The 2 women in the first pic stopped to ask me to take a photo of them, when just a minute earlier they had ironically walked through my shot and made it ten times better.

I asked if they wanted me to take it with my camera and send it to them. Then I intentionally decided to go out of my comfort zone and ask other people too.

Most responded with “How much?” Even in this world even kindness feels like a commodity, something to be monetized, because what we need more human connection.
In that moment, I decided to document my entire trip as something much bigger than I originally imagined.

I’ve been sitting on this content, but I think it’s time to start sharing more of this journey, the family trip that turned into my first spontaneous solo trip abroad.

I was inbetween timelines & I chose not to make the safe, logical choice & took the road less traveled. I instead followed the feeling that there was more for me in that city. More for me in Seoul. I am so incredibly grateful to my parents to have this privilege. I don’t take it for granted. In fact sometimes I feel incredibly guilty about it. They allowed me the opportunity to be with myself and really get to know myself. It was a priceless gift to me.

Turns out, I was right. I serendipitously met new people and made real connections across cultures and language barriers. I existed in a place where no one knew who I was, and that freedom allowed me to meet myself without the weight of other people’s expectations.

There I found peace.
